  1. Yesterday
  2. It will be interesting to see with all of the production changes at WWE if they are going to do something interesting with the draft tonight. They moved it to go to against the NFL draft for a reason.
  3. Becky is clearly going to put over Liv, who is due a heel turn. Becky herself needs a gimmick refresh. But yeah, as much as I like Bayley, Asuka, and Kairi, it’s time for some new blood on top
  4. I can see Chelsea Green possibly getting a chance somewhere down the line.
  5. Yeah, it's OK to disagree, but I don't like getting personal just because someone doesn't have the same opinion as I do. I've never had a problem with you personally, especially in this thread RC. Hope my cmments didn't seem like I did. On a side note I think what is going on at some US universities right now with the protests is a disgrace. Going after Jewish students like that is not only wrong, but racist. When I say "we" shouldn't give money to Israel for funding the war, I mean US government dollars only, and only beause I disagree with Netan-Yahoo's prosecution of the war, not because I am anti-Israel. College students and faculty putting on masks and commiting violence and targeting Jewish students for simply being Jewish is something I have a big problem with.
  6. I don't even know where to start. First, an apology should never be a consequence. Second, if the apology is supposed to be restorative, restorative practices should NEVER be used for habitual bullying. Third, even if it was an accident, there was still harm caused and does not get you out of a consequence. Fourth, I hate the "talk to the whole class" without a clear (clear is kind) progressive discipline plan. Just following the fucking plan. If you haven't been following, just tell students and parents you will begin enforcing it (it is unfair to just randomly start enforcing a rule at the end of April that was never enforced all year). Fourth, if you followed the fucking plan, even if it is just smoke and not fire, you should escalate the consequence if the smoke doesn't stop (which is why it is called progressive discipline). Why is there not a separation contract with a clear progressive discipline plan? That clarity would make everyone's life so much easier for everyone. If Q goes to bully, bully tells staff ASAP and Q is in trouble. If bully goes to Q, Q tells staff and bully is in trouble. This also protects BOTH students from accusations from the other. I put a bully on a separation contract earlier this year for way less than this. The student broke it and was suspended. The next step was expulsion. The parent pulled him because she was worried "he would be under a microscope". I said, "that's the point". The #1 role of a principal is to keep kids safe.
  7. How old are the teachers and principal? They sound like teenage camp counselors art best.
  8. Maximus has the Idiot Savant perk!
  9. Laurent Cantet died. 63! Time Out (2001) is the only one of his films I’ve seen but it’s loomed really large in my head ever since I first saw it. I think I’ve seen it ... twice? I’m not sure when or under what circumstances. I think maybe it made some big list of Best Films Of The First Half Of The 00s and so that would’ve been in ... ‘05. The premise was intriguing enough that I watched it and, like, the feelings it evoked are still with me. I should probably see it again.
  10. Okay! Thank you for saying that. I appreciate it! (The preceding nine words from me were not sarcastic or an attempt at wit or some kind of online argument standard-for-the-Lyceum posturing. I do thank you for telling me that and I do appreciate you telling me it.)
  11. Last week
  12. So, they determined it was an accident because the bully said it was. Her consequence is that she has to apologize. Not even a separation plan. There is zero accountability at this school. They have looked at every incident on an individual basis, but where there is smoke, there is fire. Q can get along with other kids just fine in the right environment where the adults have actual expectations for behavior. I'm sitting in on a choir practice right now and the kids here are so nice. Her Girl Scout troop is a great little group of weirdos who all get along despite having a wide variety of interests. The principal and superintendent give zero Fs. I'm going to talk to Q tonight and I have to convince her that there is nothing worth going back for. She got to do Science Fair, field trips to the Kangaroo Farm and bowling are not worth 35 more days of this nonsense. I will take her there myself. I did express to the principal that the 6th graders are really amping up the antics the last few weeks from what I am hearing from Q at school. The comments are getting meaner, the behavior more extra. They know they are almost done at this school and no one is going to hold them accountable. She actually agreed that she had witnessed the same and was going to talk to Q's entire class about how they were not meeting behavior expectations, as well as addressing the school as a whole. They have such a culture problem there, and it's perpetuated by the school counselor who encourages sarcasm and witty comebacks instead of encouraging open, honest and kind communication. You aren't going to reach kids by stooping to their level. That's not teaching them anything. That's giving up.
  13. That google pixel commercial has the worst fucking song too
  14. I thought the same when I saw those phone promos. The point of a picture, like a video, is to catch a moment in time. The background is part of that moment and sometimes produces some gems. If you are going to edit all that stuff, then the photo becomes pointless.
  15. Anyone been watching? Final episode next week and it’s been a strong last season to the show I think. Feels like a fair bit to pack in to the finale, but looking forward to it!
  16. The separation plan was between her and another girl. This one was definitely one of the biggest antagonists in January and the one that has made up lies about Q to others. I actually think she's the worst person out of all of them. But after the bullying report, she laid low. But there's 36 days of school left, so I've noticed the 6th graders are amping it up because they think they're done. She saw an opportunity and took it. Q won 1st place at the Science Fair tonight. Suck it, Mean Girls.
  17. What. The. Actual. Fuck. Definitely time to consult an attorney.
  18. Jesus yeah, there’s no way that’s defendable. And wtf happen to the separation plan? This is infuriating.
  19. One of Q's bullies hauled off on her in gym class today and made her nose bleed. Everyone laughed and told her to get up and then made fun of her for crying. I picked her up from school. They are doing their investigation. Q has her science fair presentation tonight and that may be the last time she ever steps foot in that school. If they let her bully off I'm absolutely pulling her because she will be a sitting duck.
  20. Oh, yeah! Make this happen and everyone will be happy!
  21. I watched a video about black and white photos having the negatives drawn on with pencils, to conceal wrinkles and dark spots. Now we have the magic of software to change everything.
  22. Well shit. We have commercials for phones that advertise all these amazing photo editing features included, which to me is just faking reality. If you can change the weather, backgrounds, eliminate people, move things around on the photo, you’re not just making your picture cleaner, you’re faking shit. It’s no longer a photo of a moment in time. With the way memory works it won’t be long before we take that edited photo and convince ourselves that’s what really happened. Really is meaningless and AI isn’t helping.
  23. It’s terrifying. AI will now become the catchall scapegoat. Anybody sees news footage that doest’t fit their rhetoric, it’s AI. It’ll be like the “fake news” war cry but worse.
  24. “Did you see what he said?” What’s sad is I’ve seen this done with politicians. My parents, in-laws and other older adults are easily fooled into thinking it’s real.
  25. Yesssss I love mentoring! Drop me a PM and tell me about his plans.
  26. My kid is on track and wants to be an aerospace engineer. At some point I'll need you to give him some reality.
  27. He’s the only one of the recent releases I’m disappointed by. I like Xia Li too, and Von Wagner and Jinder Mahal were a bit of a surprise, but Grimes was the only one I was an active fan of. The rest were no loss.
