RelentlessMalice
Okay I work with a teacher who has been a ref for 20 years for high school and the guy hates fsu and even he said it was the correct call and that is hard for him to say becausr he is a die hard gator fan. Even former nfl ref mike perriera said it was a good call.
Lucas1138
Right call does not equal correct call. It was a screw job for the reasons Choc mentioned. But according to the rules, yes it was a penalty.
RelentlessMalice
Well they still had a chance to convert another 4th and long like they had a minute before and didnt so. I would consider it a screw job had it been the last play of the game.
Lucas1138
I'm not *too* up in arms over the call/loss, because I think if Notre Dame wins out then they'll be included in the playoff (rightfully so), almost regardless of what happens elsewhere. RelentlessMalice
Very true. They are a good team.
The Choc
If it's the correct call then refs make the incorrect call 95% of the time.
Lucas1138
I'm not sure anyone is making the argument otherwise.
The Choc
And I agree, the Irish will make the playoff if they win out. This is the best Notre Dame team since the last time they were screwed after playing Florida State in 1993.
RelentlessMalice
Still sour since 93? ND lost to BC the next week. The only team that frankly has a legit claim in 93 was WVM. They were undefeated. They beat BC that ND lost to. FSU was CLEARLY the best team, most exciting team to watch in 93. Period the end.
The Choc
Theh were clearly the best team other than during the biggest game of the year.
RelentlessMalice
We were one play away from winning the game. One of the greatest/worse experiences I ever had at a game. I was a lucky freshmen at FSU who paid alot of money for a ticket with a couple of buddies. We drove to South Bend and if we thought it was a long trip up, it was a longer trip back. I do not think we got back to Tally until Tuesday. We were in shock. But all was well that Saturday night when BC won and FSU whooped NCState 69 to 3. I think every guy in Tally got laid that night. The Choc
FSU got back in because voters felt bad for Bobby Bowden and because Matt Friar cried like a little baby after the Notre Dame game.
RelentlessMalice
I cried after that game. Kudos for remembering Matt Frier.
Ms. Spam
A totally interesting map! http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/10/03/upshot/ncaa-football-map.html
RelentlessMalice
That map is very sterotypical. There are a ton of FSU fans in central FL. They are not just located in north FL.
Ms. Spam
Go in small like use the plus sign or click a lot for your area of Florida and it gives you details county by county. I thought it was neato. It's based on responses from facebook.
RelentlessMalice
I guess USF doesnt exist. There is nothing in the Tampa area. Also there isnt that many Miami Hurricane fans in south Florida.
Ms. Spam
There are a lot of LSU fans in Texas. Which I do not get. Maybe the Miami fans don't Facebook?
RelentlessMalice
This FSU team is KILLING ME!!! However they find ways to win!!! To all the haters, keep on hating!!! Down 21pts and comeback and win by 11pts.
D-Ray Kenobi
A totally interesting map! http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/10/03/upshot/ncaa-football-map.htmlI'm calling BS on that map. I'm in North Alabama and there are just as many Auburn fans as Bama fans here. And I know there are far more for Auburn than Bama in much of the southern part of the state. ShadowDog
That kind of thing just needs a 51% majority.
Lucas1138
Not even that, an any-percent plurality.

Darth Krawlie
Hahahahahahaha auburn. Also it'd be awesome if Alabama lost.
Gamevet
That was the A&M team that I'd expected to show up throughout the season. Kenny Hill led to their downfall, but they look to be back on track.
