  1. Pallettes and tastes mature. It's why a lot of peopl hate veggies as kids but love them as adults. If you would have told 9 year old me I'd like Brussle sprouts some day I wouldn't believe it.

I'm finding I have way more of a taste for wine now than I did a decade ago.

we'll talk in about 6 more years when i'm 37-38.

  2. i tried being a wine-o. like, really, super-duper hard when i was in my early/mid 20's. i just got tired of pretending wine smelling like cat piss was okay. or pretending that a wine tasting like a tree or dirt or smoke and cigarettes was completely acceptable.

  3. This really has nothing to do with Sony. When you have the top 2 movie theaters in the country pulling your movie, you're not left with much choice. Sony had to kill the movie. if they didn't, and if something like a gun shooting happened at one theater during a screening of this movie, people would be angrily blogging and protesting sony's and movie theaters decision to screen this movie.

    That's the 'Merican way.

  4. similar thing happened to me last year. bought a nexus 5 when it launched, got the package from the ups driver, and almost immediately noticed the package had been tampered with. of course, within seconds, the ups driver was already gone. long story short, i called ups, called google, and had another phone shipped to me with no problems. pretty painless.

  5. MORE LIKE THEY DIDNT HAVE BIG ENOUGH KNIVES yeah I'm in too much pain to even joke.

When I was 3 I had surgery on my junk cause a fetal hydro seal didn't close when it was supposed to.

Apparently it left scar tissue on my vas differens that had to be excised even though it was 35 years ago. Which means they had to push and pull my junk around for an hour, keep shooting me with more local anesthesia directly in the junk cause it wasn't working very well and felt like getting kicked in the nads but on the inside and now I'm going to throw up

it was everything i could do to read this post.

  6. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: A-

if i was to pick between rise and dawn, i'd choose rise, just because i loved watching the growth of caeser. and what he was becoming. it's one of my favorite transformations in any movie i've ever seen.

with that said, dawn was pretty amazing. in rise, you saw caeser go from loving humans, to hating and despising humans. in dawn, while he doesn't go back to loving humans, he at least comes to the realization that not all apes are good, and not all humans are bad.

  7. I don't consider myself privileged. I'm a single father with full custody of my son and I work my ass off in a blue collar job system to pay my bills to provide for me and my son. I don't have much, and i don't get handouts. I'm far from privileged.

  8. I live 15 minutes from Ferguson. It's finally calmed down, now that all the media vans have moved onto the next big event. Other than the chaos that happened a couple weeks ago and the 15 buildings that got torched to the ground and the countless businesses that got busted up and looted, everything is back to normal.

  9. Also, reading the comments on the official trailer at YouTube is pure comic relief. There's actually people so disgusted with the crossbar, they've written the movie off. People going into a 5 paragraph rant about the mechanics of a light saber and 'scientifically' debunking why it's impossible for a light saber to have a crossbar.

I'm not going to lie, i'm seriously rooting for this crossbar and it being meaningful and useful in the film. Go, crossbar. Show the Galaxy you belong on a lightsaber.

  10. Just viewed it on imax today. My second favorite movie of the year. Enjoyed it from beginning to end. Don't care what is scientifically accurate and what's not. For me, nolans movies are usually never ones that I understand after one viewing. Or two. That's death to a lot of movies, but Nolan at least makes me want to come back to the movie for more viewings.

For about half the movie, I really didn't care for the robots. But they grew on me. The reveal was something way out of left field. Confusing. But I get the jest. I loved Cooper and Murphys relationship.

  11. my son, mom, dad, sister and brother-in-law, my nephew and niece and my ex-wife. and that's really about it. my friends and relatives get christmas cards/photos if they're like/i get around to it. i love christmas, november and december are certainly my favorite months of the year. decor and tree is going up this week.

as far as budgets go, i don't really have one. a lot of times i tend to purchase a family gift for my sister and brother-in-law, and at least one or 2 gifts for each nephew and niece. my mom and dad is just random. usually, a 12 pack of beer and a carton of cigarettes suits my dad just fine.

as far as keilan goes, i have no budget. i mean i certainly won't spend a fortune, but this year i'll spend close to $200 on him.

  12. Big Hero 6- B+

Beautiful movie. Amazing to look at. Funny at times. Beymax and Hero work great together. I did find the story a little generic, and the twist/reveal was obvious from the beginning. Also, maybe a bit heavy on the peril, as it was a bit taxing on my 4 year old, but overall he loved it. Already wants to see it again. Beymax will be a big hit with kids.
