I only watched S01 and it was (and still is) one of the greatest bits of television ever. Its better than the Wire.

The Wire is waaaayyy overrated.  Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Boardwalk Empire, and Rome are just a few examples of shows that totally blow it out of the water.

  2. Hi all! I posted in the Flying thread and and this inspired me to create this one.I am travelling and will be on a 19 hour layover in Heathrow Airport London March 9-10, at Aerotel near Terminal 3.  I am looking to do something for a few hours while there, and was wondering if anyone has helpful suggestions on what to see.  Destiny was kind enough to suggest taking the Elizabeth line Tube to central London.  I was wondering for those who are in the know about London (this is my first time there), especially our UK Nightly members, if there is a good place to go for some brief site seeing and a good place for dinner.  Hell, maybe even meet up with a nighly member there, if feasible!  Please give me some recommendations!

  3. I love travel, but hate flying.  I have a trip coming up in about a week, and I am getting nervous.  I am going to Prague, Czech Republic and while I am excited, I am really not looking forward to the 20+hour flight time!  On the way there, I fly to from PHX to Charlotte with a 4 hour layover, then to Madrid for another 4 hour layover, then finally Prague.  On the way back, it's from Prague, to London Heathrow Airport, where I will stay 19 hours.  I kinda wish I had more time in London to see some sites, but since I am not familiar with the Heathrow Airport area, I will probably just hang out at the hotel Aerotel.  Does anyone know the London Heathrow area very well? Like what is there to do for a few hours, besides hanging out at the airport?

Here's a the decent Alienware Aurora 16. I think that the Power Supply is a bit weak and only having 16GB of RAM is behind the times. It's $1179 and a decent 1080p rig.

Agreed, the 16 GB RAM is a bit low, but RAM is cheap these days and an easy install.  Since you are looking to get a whole new computer, Jacob, the Aurora looks (on paper) to be a good rig.

If it was me, and my desktop was working fine still, and as long as the PC can run Windows 11, I would consider just upgrading the graphics card to one that will run the games you play, the RAM,  and possibly the power supply.   This is assuming you are using an M.2 or SSD for a boot drive.  If you have a mechanical hard drive, might as well just get a new computer, though.

  5. Here are my favorites in order:

    1. Rocky 3

    2. Rocky 1

    3.Rocky 2

    4. Creed

    5. Creed 2

    6. Rocky 4

    7. Rocky Balboa

    8. Rocky 5

I like all the Rocky universe movies that I have seen.  Still haven't seen Creed 3, but I have a feeling no Rocky, even just a cameo, in it is a deal breaker.   Creeds 1 and 2 were good films, but I still have to rank the first 3 Rocky films higher.

  6. Finally saw this the other night.  I was in a shitty mood so it did help with that.  Probably one of the weaker Thor movies with the first still being my favorite, and Ragnorok being a very close second.  THor 2 was OK to me.  I really enjoyed the goats.

Amen.  Critical Drinker is a joke.  It started off making valid points but then her realized and even admitted that those videos get the most views, so that's all he does now.  So you are basically admitting that you sacrifice the quality and validity of your chanel just for the sake views.  Actually, he literally admitted that in an interview once.

Yeah I have no doubt all those bro tubers are all about the clicks.   What is odd is they don't realize how dependent they are on Star Wars or Marvel, or whatever it is they are bagging on.   They literally make a living bitching about that stuff.  I don't know what is weirder though, that, or the audience that laps that shit up.

  8. I'm boring I guess.  I watch a lot of CNN news or history stuff, or videos of how to tear this laptop apart, how to play a song on guitar, or how to install this or that, or general car stuff.  I also like to watch interviews of actors, especially Star Trek actors like the Shuttlepod Show, done by they guys who played Trip and Reed on Enterprise.  Another wierd random thing I like is watching videos on which animal would win in a fight like on wildciencias,  and sometimes light spoilers on upcoming movies like Godzilla X Kong.

What I hate are youtubers who make a living trashing Star Wars or Marvel.  There are literally hundreds of those.  Examples of that trash are Doomcock, Midnights edge, and Critical Drinker.  For some reason those pop up from me watching spoilers I guess.  Never sought that shit out, but watched a few minutes of each and they just babble about this or that being woke or whatever.   I don't know how someone can make it though one of those videos and actually like it.

Padme is like the Uncle Ben of Star Wars. Her death is the only one you can't retcon in some way as it's such a major motivator for so much of the story.

    Uncle Ben?

A few days ago Murray stopped eating except for treats.  Last night he walked around a little bit outside more than usual, but once he came in he could barely stand and wouldn't even eat treats.  His breathing changed so I figured the time was near.  We snuggled in bed up until 1AM when passed peacefully and loved.

I am sorry to hear this.  I know how you must feel.  :(
