Uncharted (movie)

Just saw this over the weekend! So it was not very good, Holland was okay as Drake but he seems more like teenage Nate at the beginning of Uncharted 3 than the adult version. And then there was Wahlberg, who was awful as Sully. At least they managed to give him the mustache at the end. :P

It borrowed a bit from U3 (plane scene) and 4 (pirate ships), with a bit of 1 (helicopter bit). Guess they are saving Elena for a sequel if there is one. Actress playing Chloe was okay but she didn't do much other than tag along and then was gone for the third act. Some decent action scenes but overall pretty forgettable.

I've watched about 1/3 of it. just haven't had a chance to watch any more. Didn't love it, didn't hate it, but it felt like they were trying to remake the games and they failed. Honestly, the games are more cinematic and have better acting. If you want to make a movie, make a CGI animated movie and let the same people do the animation that make the games. 10/10 would watch and enjoy.  Neither of the main actors are convincing as Nathan or Sully. They have such great, defined characters from the very beginning of the first game that going a completely different way doesn't make sense.

Having said that, I love this type of movie and it would've been WAY better had they just made an adventure / treasure hunting movie with the same people but not tried to make it an Uncharted movie.

Movies based on games rarely work. Especially when the game is an adventure/platformer.
