Zathras
For me, Cornish meatballs at a place called Cornish Pasty Company. They are literally amazeballs.
Ms. Spam
*squinting* not sure I will like this... I tried some new nerds valentine candy that's tart gummy stuff rolled in nerds.

My meaty balls are wrapped in bacon, with sauteed onions, wine and mustard sauce. They taste great!

Cerina
We made Million Dollar Spaghetti the other night. It's basically like a spaghetti casserole lasagna. It was pretty good, but then again, it was basically just spaghetti with extra cheese.

I like to use angel hair pasta.
Quetzalcoatl
Sushi. Never again.
Zathras
Sushi is awesome, but if you have bad sushi the first time, it will ruin it for you.
Quetzalcoatl
According to my date, it was good sushi. But given that I was a sushi virgin, I can only take her word for it. I guess its just not for me.

Took me at least 10 years to get over that bad impression to make me brave enough to try again. Second time, started with a California roll. It wasn't that impressive, but it was my gateway roll to others that were awesome.
Guest
Good sushi doesn't always mean good for someone having it their first time. But good job trying something new.

Iceheart
I love sushi, but I could definitely see trying it the first time not really knowing what to expect and noping out. Especially if you started with some of the more complicated stuff. I made a coconut curry pasta dish to bring to work today, after seeing the video recipe on Facebook this morning. I've already had two bowls.
Ms. Spam
It's a texture thing. I think the Japanese are really big into that too. It's like coffee for sushi and a learned taste. I think my sister finds the fishy options too fishy but she likes california rolls which is not real sushi.
RUAJedi2
I had bun thit nuong for lunch: Vietnamese rice vermicelli bowl with grilled lemongrass beef and spring roll. Not new to me, but damn tasty, considering the restaurant is in a little NC podunk mountain town.
Tank
Maybe it's because I have always lived in cities, but I am always surprised when people discover foreign dishes that are part of my weekly routine. IMA SOPHISTICATE
R.CAllen
All this sushi talk reminds me of a dumb but solid joke from an episode of Will & Grace ('98-'06, '17-'20) where guest star of the week Gene Wilder gets mad after ordering sushi at a restaurant. "Waiter, this fish is raw!" [edit : it's on YouTube] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6WxmAAvpCc
