dumb questions

Recommended Posts

I always figured Leia and Lando had a plan that didn’t involve Luke:

Lando establishes himself within the palace first. Then Leia gets in with the ruse of having captured Chewbacca. She thaws Han and they get out. While Jabba and his cohorts are busy freaking out over Han and Leia escaping, Lando frees Chewie and they slip out with the droids. No need for Luke.

It’s not until that goes all to hell that Luke needs to get involved.

Considering Luke had his ass handed to him and they had to rescue Luke at the end of TESB, it makes sense they had a Plan B (or A?), because they weren't convinced Luke could pull off a rescue.  Joke's on them, though because Luke rescued them after Leia fucked shit up.  HA!

Plan C: Lobot walks into Jabba's Palace like John Wick entering the night club.

Now that should be canon.  Lobot laying waste too hideous or description!

with any luck we'll be getting a lobot disney+ show, but only after one of the touring escapades of Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes

A rock documentary style would be hilarious.

Yeah, the Modal Nodes are more like the cover band that comes to play local bars every Friday night. They're good enough to drink to, maybe even dance if you're so inclined, recognized in the local area, but they're not hit makers. They record their own original stuff, but no one really cares about that.

Max Rebo is definitely a touring band, with recognizable hits. How could you not with Sy Snootles singing? Signing her was a coup for Max, definitely.

Jabba pays more.  Guaranteed.  The cantina owner has significantly less income flow.

Maybe Jabba owns the Cantina though.  Probably.

Anyway, Krawlie's band bios sound most reasonable.

But what about the techno jams at the Coruscant disco?   Or the space Reggae band in Force Awakens?

No way, just think about the 2 bands? Everyone knows the song from the Cantina, its famous. The song they play in Jabbas palace, not nearly as good.

Agreed for real, I'm just bullshitting in universe.

The best band actually was the band in Maz's place, that was a cool song they played. And actually its the only bar type place in all of Star Wars that I'd actually want to hang out in.

Actually that wouldn't be a bad thing to rank. Where to hang out in Star Wars. Off the top of my head I can think of

That club where Obi Wan and Anakin capture the shape shifter

Dex's Diner

The Cantina

Jabbas Palace

Maz's Castle

The Casino on Canto Bight

The bad guys ship from Solo

Yub Nub could be a huge hit if only the Ewoks weren't so primitive.   A talent scout went there to get them signed and recorded but Logray and Chief Chirpa fucking ate him.

I would much prefer going to the Coruscant opera house than either the Cantina or Jabba's palace.  Those places just feel a little too likely to end up in geting killed or witnessing a killing, at the very least.

They wouldn't let you in.
