Odine
Depends on the flavour of the 80s we're shooting for. If it's 80s goth/death-rock/post-punk it's gonna be way different than 80s pop/80s anthems. I listen to a lot of stuff from the 80s so if it's any music from the decade it could be a pretty weird playlist. Everything on Icy's list makes the cut. And if we are going fairly broad I'd add: Love Action- by the Human League Lullaby - the Cure Smalltown Boy- Bronski Beat Bigmouth Strikes Again- The Smiths Kinky Afro - Happy Mondays I wanna be adored - the Stone Roses Transmission - Joy Division Schizophrenia - Sonic Youth Star Power - Sonic Youth West End Girls - the Pet Shop Boys Guess Who's Coming to Dinner - Black Uhuru Night Nurse - Gregory Isaacs Murderer - Barrington Levy Here I am - Barrington Levy For Whom the Bell Tolls- Metallica Ride the Lightening - Metallica Just Like Honey - Jesus and Mary Chain Taste the Floor - Jesus and Mary Chain Sacrifice - Bathory Necromancy - Bathory Fuck the Police - NWA (because of course) Blew - Nirvana The Cutter - Echo and the Bunnymen

It's funny-- I know full well and good when Appetite For Destruction came out, but when I think 80s, I think more of New Wave and pop. Point being I have an 80s playlist, and a Hair Metal playlist... The Choc
Tank is right, 80s Music doesnt just mean music released in the 1980s. Its a genre unto itself. I'd include hair metal in that. However GnR are not hair metal.
Tank
Axl's hair in the video for Jungle disagrees. Haha-- I mean, yeah, you couldn't put them in the same boat as Poison, but they were the same era.
