The Choc
I don't know why this annoys me so much but it does: Why does Disney+ have the previews for the digital release of the PT and OT rather than the actual trailers made prior to release? This seems insane to me and something that not a single fan would like. For me personally it bothers me to no end especially with the PT because they all had such great trailers. It would be great to have real OT trailers too but those were made before trailers were an art form in and of themselves so it's not as a big a deal to me. Also even with the ST why can't they give us all the trailers released for each movie? It seems like it would be a pretty easy thing to give us. Really though its the idea of having the promos for the digital releases over the real trailers. Its one of those things where its nearly impossible to understand this decision. Tank
Maybe because they are all on youtube so why bother?
The Choc
Just the ease of having them all in one place. I mean I pay for Disney+ but they give that away for nothing on YouTube? Plus then why have the trailers for any of the movies?
Jedigoat
I don't get the gripe. What are you annoyed about? Disney isn't showing the original trailers?
The Choc
Yes, thats exactly it.
Jedigoat
But every time it's released on new media, there's a new preview made for it.
The Choc
Well yeah but I think the original trailers are more fun to watch. I mean those are what were released and then debated endlessly on here and elsewhere.
Jedigoat
That's it?
Darth Krawlie
I agree that the original trailers are different and better than whatever they cobble together after the fact. And not just for Star Wars, but anything.
Jedigoat
I agree on this as well. The most exciting trailer I've ever seen. It also helps it was a most anticipated film ever.
Tank
But... again... you can see them, in HD on youtube. It's not like they don't exist.
Guest
It’s still a fair question. Look at it this way - if you’re going to put special features on a DVD, why put the crappiest version?
Jedigoat
The Burger King commercial with Ben Affleck is their best commercial! WHY AREN'T THEY STILL USING IT!?!!
Darth Krawlie
I dunno the one with Hootie was pretty good. And the chicken fries. MAYBE YOU DO! Or nearly anything with the King in it.
Guest
Confession: I almost never care about special features, other than the one on Clue that lets you have a random ending
Darth Krawlie
Deleted scenes are interesting every once in a while. But otherwise, same.
The Choc
It's not THAT big a deal but seriously if you are going to take the time to put a preview there why wouldn't you put the preview(s) that every single fan would prefer?

Yeah, if there's something specific that I want to see, I'll do deleted scenes, but most of the time if I want to watch a movie I just want to watch a movie. I figured you would be someone who was into commentaries, for some reson.
Darth Krawlie
I’ve watched and enjoyed several, but I have neither the time nor the patience anymore. The further away I get from school and earning my film degree, the less I’m interested in behind the scenes stuff.

Jedigoat
I hate how the ST is better acted and produced like I wanted the prequels to be, but still not as good.

This is what I've boiled it down to. The PT is a bunch of horribly executed great ideas. The ST is a bunch amazingly executed terrible ideas.
