Metropolis
Man this Dark Order thing is stupid. Shots at WWE are almost commonplace at this point. Cody saying we have bike racks for barriers instead of padded walls is dumb. I would think that the fans sitting behind them and the wrestlers prefer the padded barriers. Metropolis
I don't get unnecessary spots. The sport is already dangerous. Taking needless risks seems stupid to me. During the Darby Alin-Sammy Guevara match , Samy pulled a real 6' Werner ladder from under the ring. You know the ones that are mostly fiberglass and weigh 30-40 lbs for the 6ft one? Not the aluminum ones that WWE use all the time. Where the 12ft ones weigh 10lbs. Guevara puts Alin on the ladder, comes off the top rope onto Alin and there is NO give! Alin is 170 soaking wet. Thankfully Guevara isn't that much heavier. There could have been a few been ribs for either of them.
Metropolis
I wonder if anyone noticed that Jake The Snake Roberts was wearing his WWE Hall Of Fame ring during his segment with Arn Anderson.
Metropolis
So the Revival finally made their AEW debut. While I really like the Revival as a tag team, they had no charisma what so ever. They showed some when they were teamed up with Shane and Drew McIntyre. Now is their chance to show the world the WWE was wrong.
Metropolis
Yeah Brian Cage is a beast and all, but I can't help but remember that he lost a match to Tessa Blanchard before he got injured.
Stallion
I didn't know he lost to Blanchard. That said I'm really enjoying AEW.
Darth Krawlie
Tried watching All Out and it was very not good. DNF'd it and switching to basketball.
Metropolis
Where were you watching it? Wasn't it ppv?
Metropolis
So every champion in AEW are WWE refugees. In Impact their men and women's champs are wrestlers WWE released. Other than Moxley, none of the others moved the needle. I like the Revival but they were boring on their own.
Darth Krawlie
https://watchwrestling24.net/ And yeah... it's very clear AEW is trying to "stick it" to WWE. In a lot of ways it's deserved. It's also coming across a little pathetic and smug, like TNA in 2007 or so. Just focus on yourselves and stop worrying about the big bad other. Metropolis
So apparently Rusev showed up in AEW last night.
Darth Krawlie
His promo was weird, though. Shove the fake brass ring up your ass. He's spent his post-WWE time on twitter defending the company, not saying anything negative, praising the opportunity and being happy for his time there. Then his first AEW promo he rips them? I have a hard time believing this was an unscripted promo.
Metropolis
Guys watch that when I get home from work. It will be interesting to see what he does. I think Rusev is one of the few ex WWE guys that has real potential. Brodie Lee has kinda shown he is a kid card guy at best. So far Cardona is proving the same. Metropolis
Okay that was kinda weak. Interesting pairing him Kip Sabian. Obviously Miro's job is to get over while elevating Sabian. Don't see that happening. Still trying to figure out releasing Rusev. You give up on him, but Lars Sullivan is still under contract?
Darth Krawlie
Rusev had the audacity to get over on his own, which Vince has never been a fan of. For all my issues with AEW, Vince remains the biggest flaw the WWE has, and that one can't be fixed.
Metropolis
Vince doesn't play the long game anymore. If he had patience with more than a few storylines both shows would be great. AEW claiming to have the best and deepest tag team division is funny. Technically it's true because WWE doesn't focus on is tag teams. Deepest? No. WWE has the deepest. Unfortunately they are either spread across brands or are hurt. I honestly want to drive over there and volunteer to write the tag division for free. Darth Krawlie
LOL at the deepest, when they immediately team up Jericho and Hager and you know they'll be a top team in a minute, and their first champions were two singles paired up as well. Metropolis
The first champs were SCU. So as a group that counts.
Darth Krawlie
Oh they were? Shows how much I follow, I thought Omega/Page were first.
Metropolis
So Sting debuted tonight on Dynamite apparently. I'm almost two months behind on AEW so I don't know where or why he would appear. Perhaps I'll clean it the dvr next week on vacation.
Darth Krawlie
Apparently they’re doing some sort of crossover with Impact, which is pretty damn cool.
Metropolis
Really? I don't know why I feel the need to watch these in order but I need to catch up.
Metropolis
Talked to someone at work about the AEW-Impact thing. He's more of a watches all the shows including NJPW person. He thinks it's an attempt expand the number of wrestlers AEW used before they launch the second show. Though the rumor is that the second show went be a full wrestling show. At first. I don't watch Impact so I can't get excited about it. It's interesting to see where they will go. Any extended crossover will lead to will AEW buy Impact discussion. Darth Krawlie
Well I watched the battle royal abd the main event. I know Kenny Omega is a good wrestler but he's just so goofy... there’s just nothing about him that seems tough, or cool, or especially interesting. His facial expressions are like a cartoon. I don’t get the appeal.
Darth Krawlie
Jesus Christ. The ending of Revolution was so fucking hilarious. So so so bad.
