Nickelback is not that bad. Nirvana is not that Good. Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews are horrendous.

The Spice Girls are awesome! Well, it's an unpopular opinion for a guy, at least.

Popular for 2019: Jonas Brothers, Luke Combs, Cardi B, Halsey, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons, Panic at the Disco, Ariana Grande, Khalid, DJ Khalid, Lil Baby, Lizzo, Boogie wit da hoodie, Maroon 5, Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, 21 Savage, Adele, Kendrick Lamar, Bazzi, Camila Cabello, Justin Beiber, and pretty much all Country and rap produced since 2000, all suck and is trash.

I like Queen and Elton John, but they are played out right now, thanks to the movies

Also, American Idol and its clone shows have ruined pop music, probably forever.

NIrvana weren't any good.

My unpopular opinion would be that Nirvana is the best band of the 90's. Cobain's death caused music to drop back to the formulaic pop standards that over time led to what is now just this:

People only care about Nirvana because of Cobain's death. Had he lived, they would have faded as every other grunge band did. They didn't suck but they also weren't as great or influential as fans believe.

When is the last time someone who won one of those shows did anything other than sing the national anthem at a ball game?

Glenn Danzig era Misfits>Jerry Only era Misfits

and yet

Jerry Only Misfits>Samhain>Everything else Glenn Danzig has ever done.

Glenn Danzig is a garbage human being and I never get tired of seeing this.

No clue, but shows like that still ruined pop music.

Certainly he has been canonized because of his death. And they never had their chance to become boring, old, conservative dad rockers... Though Dave Grohl has certainly taken up that mantle with gusto. The legacy of Nirvana can be seen in all alternative rock and pop acts that have come since, I would argue. It's hard to say what the musical landscape would be now without them.

Don't get me wrong.  I have nostalgia for Nirvana, but never was my favorite band.  And I think they were over rated.  At this point, I have outgrown the whiny grunge music of my youth, anyway.  When it comes to grunge, Mudhoney>Nirvana.

Late 90s boy bands while mostly disposable, put out enjoyable disposable music.

The older I get, the more I like simple pop music.

OMG! I was reading through this topic and remembered BITCHIN' CAMARO! The Dead Milkmen are the BEST. That was triggered by the mentioning of Jim Morrison by the way.

Also I love everything the Violent Femmes ever did.
