Remember freaking out about Akira and Cowboy Bebop being optioned for live action American movies? 10-ish years later, theyre both actually happening.

Bebop is going to be a 10 episode Netflix series with John Cho as Spike - https://apple.news/A...0TrOYMdMJaKRDig

And Leonardo DiCaprio hasnt given up his Akira dreams, and has Taika Waititi on board to direct, and plans to film in California - https://news.avclub....s-ge-1833761628

I guess... it cant be any worse than Ghost in the Shell. Ugh.

Bebop is going to be great. I've read the first couple episodes, it's as faithful as you can get.

GOOD. That's the one that I'm actually okay with, the cast looks really good, too. I just really hope they can get Yoko Kanno to do the soundtrack. Or someone who Totally Gets Kanno.

Akira... looks like it'll be another GITS.

Bebop has Shinichiro Watanabe involved in some capacity, so hopefully he's heeded. And it's heartening to hear about the early episode reads. (I never liked GITS in any medium, but I'm still disappointed in clumsy adaptations.)

I'm holding hope for Miyazaki and team to bring Nausicaä to Amazon or Netflix.

Cowboy Bebop is my all time favorite anime.  I am excited about this news, but they better do it right and not mess it up.
