Guest
Also, there's a deleted scene where everyone takes a knee when Tony died. Which also struck me as ridiculous. And what's up with everyone being able to handle the stones in this one. It almost killed Quill in GotG and he was half-god. It disappeared Red Skull, but anyone can suddenly hold them. Darth Krawlie
Handling isn't the issue, it's using. Hulk explained since it was gamma radiation he'd be able to handle it (bit of a cop out I agree), and it killed Tony.
Guest
Quill definitely wasn't trying to use it in GotG. As soon as he grabbed it things went bad.
Darth Krawlie
Really right now all I'm mad about is Vudu not presenting this with an option to purchase in 4k on my TV. It lists it on my computer on phone, both of which are NOT 4k, but not on my TV, which IS.
Guest
Can't you just purchase it from another device and watch on the TV? That's what I always do, because I find it easier.
Darth Krawlie
having a hard time getting anything to work lately tbh, and we use my in-laws amazon prime, so even that's out
zambingo
I think Vudu is in a process of a revamp/merger or something. I recall getting an email from them recently which I paid only cursory attention to before deleting it. If so, maybe whatever they are doing is screwing things up for you, DK. Cerina
The girl power scene is cheesy and forced, but I've watched this movie twice in the past 24 hours and it's made me cry both times. Again. It really is true - representation matters. It doesn't even need to be good representation necessarily. But imagine when the day comes that a scene like that isn't known as the "girl power" scene because there's nothing unusual about a bunch of strong women of various backgrounds coming together during a fight scene. As some of you pointed out, movies are riddled with scenes of men doing pretty much the same. Hell, the most iconic shot from the first Avengers movie is basically just that. But also, it's not even so much that there are women in one scene, but also that they are coming together to support another one. In reality, so much of society convinces us that women should see other women as "the competition". It's immensely satisfying to see them just supporting each other for any reason without one or more trying to outdo the others in any way. But also, does it really matter that Captain Marvel is the most powerful character in the MCU when 80% of the women showing up in that scene have absolutely no way of knowing that she is, mostly because they've just come back from the dead? Metropolis
Take the "She's not alone" scene in Infinity War. You knew what they were going for, but it wasn't blatant because you got a cool fight between Proxima Midnight, Black Widow, Scarlett Witch, and Okoye. What was unusual about the Endgame scene is that it was forced. As for Captain Marvel there just seems to be something about Brie Larson that rubs people the wrong way. The MCU is lucky Thor has built up enough credit the last few years to bring Natalie Portman back to be Lady Thor. A lot of the Sci-fi comic crowd have been over her for a while.
