Tank
The umpteenth re-imagining of Lost in Space dropped on Netflix. Anyone watch it? I did for nostalgias sake and ended up filling the space-show hole in my heart that a lack of Trek and Orville has left. I actually really enjoyed it. Jacen123
Great! I didn't know it was released yet. I enjoyed watching reruns of the original show on the Sci-fi channel when i was in school and then, of course, let down by the movie. The previews and cast for this version looked good to me, so I will definitely be checking it out.

What approach did they take? Parody? Serious but major changes to the premise?
Dark Wader
I've only watched 2 episodes so far (and really enjoyed) but I'd say it's a far more serious interpretation of the original. It's definitely not a parody, a lot less humour than the original. Looking forward to watching the rest though.
ShadowDog
I've heard it referred to as LOST ... In Space and having only watched the Pilot episode I think that's a good take. The pilot was great. Looking forward to seeing more when I have the time

There's zero winking and nudging for the sake of nostalgia (outside of one cameo) and it's played straight. It's a solid scifi show.

I dislike reboots or revivals that end up just being parodies of the original.
Guest Robin
I plan to watch it. The teaser got my attention three ways; nostalgia, Parker Posey, and Mass Effects Legion as B9.
captainbleh
Didn't take long for... I've got fond memories of the original. Don't mind the serious / straight take on it if it has got a bit of personality.
Jacen123
I always loved the theme song. Good old Johnny Williams
Ryn
I can't binge it. I'm only three episodes in, but I rewatch a lot of scenes. Every aspect is so very good, especially the performances.
Guest Robin
So is it safe to assume that the critical slams on Parker Poseys Dr Smith are just typical froll behavior? (fan-troll)
Tank
Yup. She’s not a mad scientist, but she’s a master manipulator who is obsessed with Will and has self preservation as her primary goal. She’s great.
ShadowDog
I'm into episode 3 and there's nothing wrong with Dr. Smith yet but nothing super exciting either. I'll reserve judgment. Do they ever explain how one of the daughters is randomly black?
Tank
Yes. She was Maureen's first kid with another man, who skipped out. John adopted her when he married Maureen.
ShadowDog
That's a clever way to inject some diversity into the main cast.

Kyrian
My partner and I finished it the other day. We really enjoyed it. She hated Dr. Smith as a character, to the point where it almost ruined the show for her, but to me, it showed a good performance from Posey that she could make you hate a character like that, rather than hate her performance. It's very much a more modern sci-fi take on things, which I enjoyed. The ending of the final episode made it feel very much like the whole season was more of a pilot season than a pilot episode, but I don't see that as a bad thing and it worked quite well. My only real criticisms revolve around Will being a bit annoying (then again, he's a kid, kids are annoying), Judy getting over her PTSD awfully quickly, and how the robot chose its loyalties (seemed very...suspect to me, and a bit too convenient, plot-wise). Other than that, enjoyed it a lot, and I'm looking forward to season two. And more Don West please. And his chicken.
Ryn
I loved it. With rare deviation, it was very good hard sci-fi. And the main cast was phenomenal.
