Guest
This thread can involve more people than just Driver answering. Every year or two, I go away with a group of friends. We hang out, play games, and watch horror, mainly of the slasher subgenre, movies. We normally stick to the big franchises (Nightmare on Elm St, Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre). This year I'm looking to expand the selection. I've got Psycho, both versions of When a Stranger Calls, the Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer movies, and the Romero Dead Films. Also Evil Dead 2, Prom Night, Sleepaway Camp. Anything else I should have in my collection?
Metropolis
Have you seen the remake of "I Spit On Your Grave"? It's so brutal and make you uneasy watching it.
Guest
I haven't, but I'll put it on the list to watch.
Good God a Bear
I see Sleepaway Camp on your list and if that's the one I'm thinking of I laughed for days at the ending. It's a classic.

Driver
Amazon/Starz has all the Friday movies and I'm revisiting them. They really don't hold up very well compared to some Nightmare or Halloween entries... or the original TCM (obvious bias). If you want classic 80s slasher era stuff (sans slashers) that I don't see anyone else mentioning: CreepshowNight of the CreepsReturn of the Living Dead 1 and 2Re-AnimatorThingChristineHowling And perhaps my three favorite 80s horror films-- Night of the Comet, Fright Night, and Lost Boys. Guest El Chalupacabra
People already listed a lot of movies I would have listed: The Hills have Eyes series and remakesPeople under the StairsFrom BeyondCandymanAngelheartCatpeopleHostel seriesThe First PowerThe Cube & The Cube 2 (don't bother with Cube 3 Hypercube)The StrangersTrilogy of TerrorHenry Portrait of a Serial Killer (staring Merle from TWD)If you see Reanimator, you also HAVE to see Bride of Reanimator And, not sure if this qualifies as slasher, but Frailty! Also don't forget Cronenberg:ScannersVideodromeDead RingersThe Broodand of course, The Fly
Marc DuQuesne
Never really been into the genre, not going to give any lists. I liked the Evil Dead series though, I got lots of laughs out of those movies. All my high school friends were fans of slasher and horror films so I saw lots of them. One of them writes/directs them now. Small world.
DANA-kin Skywalker
Hostel is pretty brutal. I'd ad that to the list.
