It has the familiar formula, of course but the main character feels like more of a side character to me. Not sure what it is but he just isn't as interesting as Jack was, even at the start. So far it is standing on it's own without anyone from the original series showing up. Then again, I think most of them are dead, anyways. There is a woman on the show who is supposed to be a cousin of Edgar Stiles but so far that's it as far as referencing the first series. Totally going to keep watching because I'm a sucker for 24!
