The Choc
I say this as the guy who is hated for taking off Leatherface's mask, but sometimes when you go into every tiny bit of details of something you utterly destroy any sense of wonder, originality, or mystery. I agree with this 100%, that post by Zerimar made my head hurt.

pavonis
The only Star Wars head canon I believe in is the version where Captain Luke Starkiller of the USS Enterprise destroyed the Death Star with his lazer sword made with a kryptonite crystal. Quetzalcoatl
Does anyone else think its strange that Obi-Wan and Bail Organa are contemporaries in the PT but Obi-Wan looks old enough to be Bail's grandfather in the Rogue One/ANH era? Zerimar Nyliram
I think everyone and their mother has pointed that out at some point, though not sure if anyone here at Nightly has. Desert climates are proven to age people faster than normal. It isn't just Obi-Wan we see this with, but also the Larses.
pavonis
Obi-wan just couldn't find his favorite moisturizer in Anchorhead's Wal-mart. Alternatively, Organa spent a great deal of time at high relativistic velocities while meeting with traitorous scum scattered across the galaxy, thereby aging more slowly. captainbleh
I thought about that too, but it's one of those things that I just don't care about
Driver
It's almost like when Star Wars was first written the Clone Wars would have much further in the past and everyone would be connected.
The Choc
Whats funny is that Alec Guinness was 63 when Star Wars was released, Jimmy Smits is 61 now. So really no significant difference in their ages. I guess Obi Wan and Alec just aged worse than Bail and Jimmy.

Guest Robin
Jimmy is also chubby and Alec was very thin. This has big effect on how an aged face looks, regardless of medical or cosmetic work. That combined with modern advances and the IRL answer is people are generally looking younger longer now. Fictionally the explanation is easily left at just Bail lived in palace and Obi-Wan lived in a desert. A caveat could be added that Obi-Wan felt more responsible for events, while Bail was just working against what was happening. That said, Rogue One was great. Also... hello, everybody. Odine
There's also the fact Ewan doesn't ageHe has definitely aged. The difference between him in trainspoting and trainspoting 2 is huge. But he is ageing very gracefully to be sure.

But he is ageing very gracefully to be sure. Sure-- but he's in that Johnny Depp camp where they age, but you have to put up a comparison pic to see it. AND they aren't aging like total crap. Either way, Ewan can still play Obi-Wan.

Metropolis
Yeah but living the sheltered lifestyle in his castle on Alderan, probably bathing in berry infused waters........I'm guessing Bail probably hosted Rockin New Year's Eve on Coruscant.
