Any other 80s kids spot this...?

So back in the day, fourth grade, I used to watch Wrath of Khan and Last Starfighter over and over and over.

Take a look at these:

And then this:

You see it? Even back then I recognized them. Probably from all those episodes of Buck Rogers.

...or maybe it was Knight Rider...

...or was it V

And while I don't have the screen caps to back it up, if it was on Buck Rogers, you know it was on the original BSG. Pretty sure they were often seen around Oscar Goldman too in either Six Million Dollar Man or the Bionic Woman, or any other vaguely scifi show shot on the Universal Lot.

You see it, right? The consoles. Even as a kid I was like HEY THAT'S THE THING FROM THE OTHER THING.

There's 3 main designs-- a big panel of yellow lights, the one with the gold bit in the middle, and the one with the two round displays with green and red lights behind them. If you saw one, you'd usually see the others.

And those blinky tube lights Grig is looking at usually weren't far behind. In fact, those tubes were in almost every version of Star Trek ever...

...and I guess that means they followed Shatner around:

Anyone else remember these?

Actually I did catch some of those when I was a kid, particularly with the red light tube thingies. They also reused those in Star Trek TNG (Datalore comes to mind) in a couple episodes. In every situation, it was "Hey they stole that from TWOK!" However, Star Trek TNG makes sense since it was sort of in universe, and also expected since the entire Enterprise-D set, except the main bridge, was a re-use of the TMP Enterprise, with redressing (as was some of Voyager, too).

Reminds me of the RHCP song, Californication: "Space may be the final frontier, but it's made in a Hollywood basement."
