Old Crow is who I took my wife to see last weekend, they're one of our favorites. We've seen them live seven times at this point I think. They've really taken it to another level in the past two or three years now that they've added a few more guys and some more instrumentals.

I went to a concert at Red Rocks just to see the venue while I was in Denver, and the tickets were around $50 if I remember correctly. I had never heard of Old Crow Medicine show before I saw them, but it was totally worth it.

I have seen them at Red Rocks the last few summers. Quite the show!

Nice! We're we there at the same time then? Mine was 2 years ago, and it poured rain right up until they started to play.

I was there two years ago :). I think that was the same concert our Governor came out and played the banjo.

My favorite musicians tend not to be top-40 acts, tend not to play Indianapolis till their careers are in their twilight years, and generally play cost-effective nightclubs. Those shows tend to run $25-$40, which is fine by me. There're a few acts still playing arena-size venues that I wouldn't mind seeing (e.g., Foo Fighters, Weezer), but I'm not interested in paying arena-size prices, especially now that I'm getting old and easier to damage at such events.

One exception: two months ago I paid twice my max threshold to take my wife to see one of her all-time favorite singers, but he's now elderly and this was promoted as his final tour. If she was ever gonna see him, it was now or never. If he lied and keeps touring, that's no longer my problem. Either way he's crossed off her bucket list.

Yeah, same here. Most of the bands or artists I see these days, are well past their heyday. Most of the people going to those shows are in my age group of late 30s-50s, so people generally don't get stupid. And to be sure, they are still good shows, to be sure, in fact since they've been around a long time, they are very polished. I happen to live in a town that has a ton of venues, from arenas to a number of gaming casinos, all within a 15 minute drive.
