Darth Wicket
Post anything you think is interesting about the Super Bowl. I will start... Besides the Buffalo Bills, only one other team made it to three consecutive Super Bowls.Miami Dolphins (6, 7, 8) The Pittsburgh Steelers are the only team to be in at least one Super Bowl every Super Bowl decade (1-10, 11-20, etc).9, 10, 13, 14, 30, 40, 43, 45 Four teams have been to eight Super Bowls (Cowboys, Steelers, Broncos, Patriots). Only the Broncos have faced 8 different teams (12 - Cowboys, 21 - Giants, 22 - Redskins, 24 - 49ers, 32 - Packers, 33 - Falcons, 48 - Seahawks, 50 - Panthers). The Patriots have faced 7 different teams (20 - Bears, 31 - Packers, 36 - Rams, 38 - Panthers, 39 - Eagles, 42 + 46 - Giants, 49 - Seahawks). The Steelers have faced 6 different teams (9 - Vikings, 10 + 13 + 30 - Cowboys, 14 - Rams, 40 - Seahawks, 43 - Cardinals, 45 - Packers). The Cowboys have faced 5 different teams (5 - Colts, 6 - Dolphins, 10 + 13 + 30 - Steelers, 12 - Broncos, 27 + 28 - Bills). Seven teams have repeated as Super Bowl Champions:Packers - 1, 2Dolphins - 7, 8Steelers - 9, 10 and 13, 1449ers - 23, 24Cowboys - 27, 28Broncos - 32, 33Patriots - 38, 39 Five teams have done a Super Bowl split (win and lose consecutive Super Bowls):Cowboys (5 - L vs Colts, 6 - W vs Dolphins)Dolphins (6 - L vs Cowboys, 7 - W vs Redskins)Redskins (17 - W vs Dolphins, 18 - L vs Raiders)Packers (31 - W vs Patriots, 32 - L vs Broncos)Seahawks (48 - W vs Broncos, 49 - L vs Patriots) Only four teams have yet to make it to a Super Bowl:LionsBrownsTexansJaguars
The Choc
The last 3 times a team was down 20 or more points at the half of a Super Bowl are all the Denver Broncos: XLVIII: Seattle 22, Denver 0XXIV: San Francisco 27, Denver 3XXII: Washington 35, Denver

ShadowDog
There's never been a shut out or overtime. Not sure which streak will snap first. Probably OT
Tex
There will never be a shut out in a SB. Closest any team ever came to that were the Dolphins in SB6, the only SB team to fail to score a TD.
ShadowDog
The Giants only got their TD against the Ravens from a kick return right? In the grand scheme of things, kick returns are pretty low % So that one was pretty close too.
Darth Wicket
There will never be a shut out in a SB. Closest any team ever came to that were the Dolphins in SB6, the only SB team to fail to score a TD. The Dolphins were also close to shutting out the Redskins in SB 7. The Redskins scored a touchdown on a 49 yard fumble recovery with 2:07 left in the game. The Giants only got their TD against the Ravens from a kick return right? In the grand scheme of things, kick returns are pretty low % So that one was pretty close too.Yes, good point. It was also a 97 yard kick return. Doesn't happen too often. The last 3 times a team was down 20 or more points at the half of a Super Bowl are all the Denver Broncos: XLVIII: Seattle 22, Denver 0XXIV: San Francisco 27, Denver 3XXII: Washington 35, Denver 10When the Broncos lose a Super Bowl, they go all out. Even though they have won two Super Bowls, they still hold the record for lowest overall point differential at -126. The next closest team is the Buffalo Bills at -66. The team with the highest overall point differential is the 49ers at +96. Here are some more facts: Despite being 4-1 in Super Bowls, the Giants have a 0 point differential. Even though seven teams have won consecutive Super Bowls, only three teams have lost consecutive Super Bowls:Vikings - 8, 9Broncos - 21, 22Bills - 25, 26, 27, 28 The NFC has a streak of 13 Super Bowl wins (19 - 31).The AFC has a streak of 5 Super Bowl wins (7 - 11). All of the Patriots 6 Super Bowls in the Belichick/Brady era have been decided by four points or less. The Colts have the longest span between Super Bowl appearances and Super Bowl championships at 36 years (SB 5 to SB 41). The record for the longest time for either team to score in a Super Bowl goes to Super Bowl 38 between the Patriots and the Panthers. The game was scoreless until 3:05 was remaining in the first half. Then, both teams scored a combined 24 points to close out the half.

Darth Krawlie
It used to be the only teams to regularly wear white and home were the Cowboys, redskins, and Dolphins. Not it seems a trendy thing that half the teams in the league do. In this case, I'm glad the Broncos chose white because I think their orange uniforms are the ugliest in the league. Guest El Chalupacabra
Well, as long as we don't see a repeat of Superbowl XVII. If Dan Marino hadn't held the ball laces in, Ray Finkle would have made that field goal, and wouldn't be known as Ray Stinkle to this day.
Darth Wicket
Other than Super Bowls 21-30 (when the NFC won all the Super Bowls), the NFC never had a winning record in any Super Bowl decade.1-10 = 3-7 (if you count NFL teams as NFC before the merger)11-20 = 5-521-30 = 10-031-40 = 3-741-50 = 5-5 All the teams that have lost consecutive Super Bowls also lost 3 within a 4 year period (with only the Bills losing 4 straight):Vikings: 8, 9, 11Broncos: 21, 22, 24Bills, 25, 26, 27, 28 No team has pulled off a three-peat, but the Cowboys and the Patriots have won 3 within a 4 year period:Cowboys: 27, 28, 30Patriots: 36, 38,
