Mara Jade Skywalker
I wish I could count rereads. I reread Carry On and now that I have the ebook I'll do another read of Bloodline.
Cashmere
I count rereads! I just mark them for my own information, but you still put in the time to read them!
Mara Jade Skywalker
Oh, good! Now if only Goodreads would let us do that...
Darth Krawlie
I wish goodreads would count graphic novels, cuz no way I'll hit my goal since they don't. I get why, but still annoying.
Mara Jade Skywalker
Do they not? I've got the Shattered Empire comic on mine.
Cashmere
I just go in and change the date of rereads so that Goodreads counts them. It kind of sucks that you don't get to see when you originally finished them, but they do count for your total.
Darth Krawlie
I've added a bunch of GNs I've read this year, but my total toward my goal for the year only goes up when I add a book.

pavonis
This thread looks like fun, and I'm finally finding more time for my own entertainment reading, so I'd like to participate. So far since January 2016, I've read: 1. A History of the World in Six Glasses, by Tom Standage2. Chaos: Making a New Science by James Gleick3. A History of the American Revolution by John Alden4. The Prism and the Pendulum: The Ten Most Beautiful Experiments in Science by Robert Crease5. Polk: The Man Who Transformed the Presidency and America by Walter Borneman6. The Signal and the Noise by Nate Silver7. The Cosmic Landscape by Leonard Susskind8. Naked Statistics by Charles Wheelan I'm currently reading Collapse by Jared Diamond and Ike: An American Hero by Michael Korda. Looking at this list, I ought to find some time for some fiction. Darth Krawlie
32. GI Joe classic volume 15, by Larry Hama33. Rat Queens volume 3: Demons, by Kurtis Wiebe34. Tehanu, by Ursula K LeGuin
pavonis
9. Ike: An American Hero by Michael Korda.10. Enigma - The Battle for the Code by Hugh Sebag-Montefiore. The film The Imitation Game didn't do the real story of Enigma decryption during the Second World War justice, and Alan Turing wasn't the only eccentric genius working on the problem! Not certain what I'll get into next, but I'm thinking I need some fiction.
Cashmere
Fiction is always my go-to choice, but found that I actually do enjoy some nonfiction now that I've given it a try. Still, I say you should definitely pick up a good made up story!
monkeygirl
I'm like an infant bere-my ability to sit and read has been severely compromised by my Anxiety disorder in the past few years, but being on bedrest from surgery has necessitated reading. I just finished The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein http://www.garthstein.com/works/the-art-of-racing-in-the-rain/ It's reading lite but pretty enchanting in places. "A heart-wrenching but deeply funny and ultimately uplifting story of family, love, loyalty and hope, The Art of Racing in the Rain is a beautifully crafted and captivating look at the wonders and absurdities of human life…as only a dog could tell it." Currently reading YOU by Caroline Kepnes https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/20821614-you Pretty cool so far. " Moving from stalker to boyfriend, Joe transforms himself into Beck’s perfect man, all while quietly removing the obstacles that stand in their way—even if it means murder." I'm liking the style it's written in-first person with lots of intriguing run on sentences. Very dark.

monkeygirl
I enjoyed it a lot, but it's very depressing in the middle. I found inspiration and good affirmations to use, since I pretty much spin everything too fast. I may be able to use the driving analogies to slow myself down. But the enchantment is all about Enzo, the dog. I 'see' him as a Golden even though his self-description counters that. He's a sweet soul and will tell you everything you think about what your dog thinks is true! Also loved that Enzo's descriptions of everything begin with how it/the person smells , just as one would suspect with a dog. I read it in about 9 hours-it's an easy read. monkeygirl
Also, Darth Virul, WTF? Are you a shut-in? Have you always read at this pace?? How much of what you read do you retain and do you read all types of books?
