Guest matthew85
I'm a 5'7 200lb offensive lineman in high school. My maxes are: bench: 145lbs; squat: 185lbs; dead lift: 185lbs. I think I need to get stronger and gain some more weight. Any tips? I really want to play

Lucas1138
In case this is for real: Work on your accessory muscle lifts. If you're plateauing and feel like you shouldn't be it's probably because you're not using the entire muscle set when you do the big lifts. Bench isn't just chest, your back needs to be activated as well. You need strong triceps and shoulders too. Squat and Deadlift constantly. Those are full body workouts. Look up DUP volume block training or the 5x5 Stronglifts program. I did DUP earlier this year for like 6 weeks and increased my max on the big three by 30-40 pounds on each. If you're trying to gain weight, eat some peanut butter before bed or something. This is assuming you're otherwise active and this won't make you fat. Make sure you have a big protein based meal/shake after a lift.
Metropolis
I'd say change positions. Because at 5'7" I'd be hesitant to put on the weight. Unless you sprout a few inches the weight could become problematic at your height. Though it all depends on how athletic you are and how many positions you can play.
