Literally had to check to make sure this wasn't an April Fool's story.

 

So, basically a low-risk patient was passed over because there was a big public outcry about giving this poor kid a "second chance" at life, which forced the hospital to make an irrational decision in favor of a high-risk patient.

 

Hospital didn't want to waste a heart on him cause of his juvenile record and the probability that he wouldn't follow through with treatment/medicine. But people felt bad and kinda forced their hand. Then he went out and shot somebody and died after a carjacking.

Anthony Stokes, 17, struck a pedestrian and then crashed a stolen car while trying to flee police. He had also shot an elderly woman during an attempted burglary, police said.
