Some quotes from my twitter feed:

NICKLOCKING: I haven't seen dinosaurs battle like that since the end of Jurassic World

Tim Siccardo: "I went to a gay wedding" is the new "I have a black friend"

And Trump seemed to monopolize a lot of times. Kasich and Rubio were awefully quiet. Ugh. People are calling Cruz the winner on foreign policy - which is about god. I guess.

None of those nitwits impressed me.

Ben Carson? Overrated.

Bush was about as interesting as watching paint dry and he seems totally out of touch with 98% of the population. It's almost like his heart isn't in running for president, but is doing so because of some stupid Bush legacy thing, like the Ted Kennedy.

Ted Crazy and his manifest destiny road map on foreign policy for 'Merica. LOL!

Trump came off as a caricature of himself. Yes Fox News baited him, but if he is too stupid to know that's what will happen to him (Fox wants to protect their "exclusive interviews" with the other GOPers), and can't answer intelligently without coming off as a braggart and patting himself on the back, deserves to be kicked to the curb in shame.

I think Rubio is angling for whomever wins the nomination to pick him up as a vp running mate, so he is trying to not burn bridges or say anything outrageous.

I agree Rock. From the very first question they asked you can tell they were after Trump and Trump fell for it.

He doesn't have the experience of the others to follow the political SOP of Deflect/Go off on a different tangent. Don't get me wrong, he has noooooooo business being POTUS, but they didn't even pretend to give him a shot. Fox sucks.

Not as LOLzy as I'd have thought, but still, plenty fun.

My favorite moment:

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/250513-trump-defends-company-bankruptcies

Trump, sounding like a member of The Jets from West Side Story..."WHAT AM I SAYIN' HERE!?" To CHRIS WALLACE!

OF COURSE, they were after Trump! He's playing a game-they called him on it. On one hand, it pisses me off that this egomaniac has been able to insert himself into a political race, just to get attention, and is subverting the process. One the other hand, the FUN! He's gotten tired of yelling at his teevee and has used some of his money to buy his way ONTO the teevee so he can use his jerk store lines on the candidates. What a colossal ass. He deserves to be targeted. If he had even pretended to be slightly serious about this process-not even the running but the process-I may feel the same way but he's an ass clown and he's clearly proud of that. Why should anyone take him seriously?

I kinda liked Ben Carson but I haven't seen him speak much lately. I thought Rubio came off pretty well. Have his ears always been THAT large?

I can't recall exactly which candidates did this-but I noticed a few times, they'd say something that seemed like they were just waiting for what they thought was the perfect opportunity to get a real zinger in and when they did, seemed so pleased with themselves-sort of like how Seinfeld always seems to be laughing at his own jokes. That **** totally turns me off. You could have just made the best point in the universe's history but if you follow it with a virtual self-high-five, it absolutely negates immediately in my mind.

Did not see JV debate, and sadly, I missed the first half of the big debate. Conservative talkers were having a "Carlygasm" this morning though, and Fox News has picked it up and won't shut up about her now. Was she actually that good in the JV debate or were the bid debaters that bad/dull/odious?

I find it odd that so many of you dismiss Republicans. I can only assume that most of you are anchorded by liberal guilt and dissapointment with life to the point where you would rather ignore logic than admit that you are all basically children who never grew up. Many of you have children of your own, yet you are still children yourselves when it comes to the world and the way it works.

Somehow coming to a nerdy website gives you some peace. I get it. Commiseration heals a lot of wounds, albeit briefly. Being around other sad sacks makes your sack seem less sad. For a day or so, at least.

I can tell you, in the most condescending way possible, that you all need to grow the fuck up. You can hold on to whatever foil you want to, and bitch about it along the way if you want, or you can say fuck YOU!!!!! I'm not taking this shit anymore.

I know that many of you think I'm a dick or a troll, but the truth is that I care about all of you. I just don't want any of you to wallow in self doubt, self pity, or general apathy to the world.

Take it. It's yours.

SO it's our fault that the GOP can't field any decent candidates that actually deserve to be president? Sorry, regardless if its D or R, if a party can't field a decent candidate, I am not going to fake enthusiasm and support someone just because of a particular party affiliation. Kasich was the only one up there that didn't seem like a robot spewing tired talking points from 15 years ago (or in Trump's case, tooting their own horn), and actually gave answers that seemed genuine and down to earth, even if they weren't. If it actually came down to Kasich, or Hillary, I would vote for him, because that is how much I dislike Hillary. But he is far from inspiring to me. As for the rest of them? Not impressed at all. It was a bunch of hot air last night.

I don't dismiss Republicans, and have said at least a few times that I wouldn't be surprised if we elect a Republican president in 2016. I just really ****ing hate most of the people running on the GOP side.

That said, he Democrats are pretty disgusting, too, so I'm perfectly happy with my apathy. I'll call it happathy.

I, for one, don't wallow in self-doubt, self-pity, or apathy. I could get behind a moderate Republican, but I haven't seen any signs that the current crop of GOP candidates are actually electable in the general election. I'll grant that right now they're pandering to the far right for the nomination, and might actually sound less crazy during the general campaign. But they're not going to win the undecided voters by advocating for fetal personhood (Huckabee has been spouting some really crazy **** on that topic), or pissing on about immigrants (if they want to win the Hispanic vote they're going to have to push a feasible plan to legal status for the illegal immigrants, not just build a crazy high wall from Game of Thrones), or Bush talking about 4% economic growth without a real plan for making it happen, not that they could. The President doesn't have that much sway on the economy, really, and lying about it doesn't make me want to vote for them.

All I see from the GOP is a nostalgia for 1950s America, the one from Leave it to Beaver at that, not the one that really existed. They want to be the President of a superpower on the rise, not the real one that is on the wane. The candidates I see aren't looking to the future and planning for that. We don't have the leverage to push China or Russia around; moaning about the Iran Deal, as if it's not the best deal we could win, and proclaiming that they would nullify it and make the international community get behind the US is ridiculous. A GOP president would make the US act like Cartman from South Park - "respect mah authoritah!" "screw you guys, I'm goin home!"

Show me a Republican candidate with a realistic vision for the future, that doesn't ignore science, doesn't proclaim Yahweh speaks in his ear on a daily basis, and has an understanding of economics that is better than my own, and I'll vote for that person.

To be fair they all seem a bit too far to the right. All the God stuff and the pro life BS is a bit much for me, too.

But when you look at the big picture, when you factor in immigration, destabization of the military, the Obamacare disaster, big government in general, any sane person should see that voting Democrat is a bad thing. Those people love the fact that Republicans sound like old men from a lost age. That's what they prey upon.

Ultimately they're all pricks, but conservatives have the better long term plan. If you are OK seeing the middle class evaporate so that your kids can grow up in poverty then by all means vote Democrat. If you're lucky maybe we'll just become a socialist state.

As I said before I don't agree with all of their ideals. I'm agnostic and I fervently believe in a woman's right to choose, but I agree with everything else they say.

Sometimes it's not about the candidate, it's the general message. Maybe one of them needs to play the sax on a talk show to win you over.

Or something.

As much as I dislike him, I think Kasich is the best bet. And he at least has shown some humility in his loss regarding the public unions rather than doubling down and being a victim, which is the standard for the GOP.

I don't like him, but I think that he is the best option from the Republicans and the most likely to win. Not to mention the fact that Ohio legitimately has recovered strongly from the recession, is attracting new businesses, and he has shown that he isn't beholden to the far right (Medicaid expansion). I'm not going to invite him to dinner, but he doesn't make me feel icky. He's someone I disagree with on multiple fronts, but seems almost reasonable, especially after he drops his balanced budget amendment nonsense.

What Republican ideas do you think help the middle class, Tex? I mainly see both parties as being against the middle class with little chance of that changing.

I think Rubio is angling for whomever wins the nomination to pick him up as a vp running mate, so he is trying to not burn bridges or say anything outrageous.

Megyn Kelly has a wealth of issues of her own, but her questioning Trump about his history of vile comments about women was fair and necessary. All one needed to see was how fast Trump's expression changed to near-rage within seconds of Kelly asking the question. Trump's disgusting history with women is nothing new, and he's just placed his bewigged head on a platter for just about everyone.

I agree about Rubio; he's a lightweight as a candidate for the top job, so I see Jeb (the honorary hispanic) calming the surface tension between the two (i.e. Rubio going on and on about new blood, instead of another "Bush or Clinton") drafting him as the VP candidate, where they think they will sweep the hispanic vote from the Democrats.

I cannot be too critical of Ben Carson--he's no politician, but he's sensible enough not to dig that "outside Washington" / egomania grave like Trump.

The first debate (5 p.m.) held the most promise--at least with two candidates. Jindal...nothing tops the pathetic list like a guy desperately trying to prove how conservative he is by how much he can repeat the "Obama and Hillary are socialists" line.

As mentioned some time ago, the clown car is gassed up, but if the GOP is lucky, a couple of intellgent stragglers will let the others crash into that wall early.

Say what you will about Trump. He got people to watch. You people might like living under liberal tyranny, but he knows that most people do not.

Something has to be done to shake people out of apathy. I applaud him. This country needs him. Can't believe I'm saying this, because I think he's a dickwad, but god bless him.

Liberal tyranny=political correctness galore, and forcing views others do not agree with down their throats and if you speak out against it then you are demonized for it.

Do not agree with abortions= you hate women.

Want to protect the border= you are anti hispanic.

Supports right to bear arms= redneck anti gov quack.

Do not agree with homosexuality= homophobic.

Disagree with raising the minimum election= rich white elitist.

Anyway that would be my defintion of liberal tyranny. Conservative tyranny exists too. We are a nation of labeling people. We start it in PreK and through adulthood.
