Guest El Chalupacabra
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/14/ra-montgomery-dead_n_6161414.html One of the most under rated American authors IMHO! Definitely one of those "OH, yeah! I remember that! He was the guy," authors! Sure, he never saw the success Harry Potter or Twilight did, but at least when I was a kid, it seemed like everyone was reading a Choose Your Own Adventure book. In fact, these books are what got me interested in reading. As a kid, I'm ashamed to say, I hated reading, at first. So, I started out in 4th grade, reading Choose Your Own Adventure books. Just absolutely loved them, and would re-read them all until I chose every possible scenario, thus reading the entire book. Even now, I sometimes wish there were adult versions of them! Pong Messiah
The only thing I vividly remember about those books is the distinct covers and that I loved them! Was a very neat idea, often well done, and the books were perfect to read (and re-read) during silent reading time -- you might actually finish a book by the time the next lesson starts! R.CAllen
I'd say that he could just skip back a few turns and try for a happier ending but if memory serves a lot of his books seemed suspiciously keen on making sure that once you were past a certain point no matter what choice you made it all still ended with a gruesome death.
