Ryn
I like Tom Cruise movies. It's a known quantity that I'll be entertained.
The Human Torch
Tom Cruise being in Star Wars would honestly be less jarring than Tyler Perry and Winona Ryder being in Star Trek 2009. Quoted for truth.I dunno. I'm not a big Tyler Perry fan so him being there was just an admiral. As for Wionna, I could hardly recognize her and besides I think she's alright... loopy, but neat. The most jarring casting IMO was Quinto/Sylar being Spock, but he's so great and it looks so fantastic (one of the, if not the, saving graces of the reboot) so I got over it just about instantly. My wife still has trouble not seeing Sylar with pointy ears however.
Driver
The problem isn't Quinto being cast as Spock, it's that you watched that much of Heroes for this notion to sink in.
ShadowDog
In his defense, that kind of PTSD is hard to shake the memory of.

Doze
I'm still not happy with the Tom Cruise thing. Can only hope it is for another movie.
ShadowDog
It is for another movie, clearly. But I find your lack of faith in Tom Cruise disturbing.

But I find your lack of faith in Tom Cruise disturbing.Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways Lord ShadowDog, Your sad devotion to the Cruise has not helped you conjure up the stolen script, or given you enough clairvoyance to get in to the stage of Pinewood.... *Choke*, Ah, H, H. If you watch just season one and pretend it stops there then yes. :-) Headcanon! It's all that matters.

Walking Dead also ended with Season 2 for me. I have no clue if it was better or worse after season 2, but the story was told and I just didn't care about what came after. NumberSix
Yikes. I'd hate to live in a world where Walking Dead ended with Herschel's Farm and Tedium Outlet.
Lucas1138
But can you say with any certainty it's gotten better since then, on the whole? I'm not sure I can. Season 3 was much improved... I pretty much hated 4 though.
Driver
Every season of The Walking Dead could be edited into a great 90 minute movie.
Lucas1138
Which would eliminate the constant "Next week "X" which we've been teasing and you've been looking forward to!" "No really, this was a setup episode, next week is the week!" "Okay, for real this time, X is totally happening!" "Alright, see how close we are? X is going to be insane!" "Whoops season finale lol. see u nxt yr"
The Human Torch
So my 15yo and I were chatting geek and he mentioned the Cruise News, my smarty pants kid says, "Some fanboys are going nuts insisting Tom is in Star Wars now, guess they don't know JJ produces the Mission Impossible movies." He continues with, "But if he was he should be Dash. He's the right age, looks way better than the rest of the cast but they could just say one word: carbonite." Good lord, I've raised a Smark. Or somehow cloned myself.
Lucas1138
No mention that Dash is a red-head though? Definitely not a clone.
