Ryn 1,286
Are they still talking sequel(s)?
ShadowDog 2,168
If it keeps them the rights.
Ryn 1,286
How does holding onto rights when a film reviews (I haven't looked into performance numbers) this poorly? Is there inherent monetary value in that?
Darth Krawlie 6,128
Spite.
Guest
At the point I'm convinced that the new movie is Fantastic Four: Springtime for Hitler
Tex 0
It's not spite. They honestly think they can make money off of this franchise, which astounds me. The deck was stacked against the FF from day one because of its inherent corny factor. I just don't see any way to make it work on film, and now that they've done this the odds of making any real money are worse than ever. Suits me just fine, though, because I always hated the comic. I'm just glad we won't have to see a crossover with the X Men.
ShadowDog 2,168
It almost has to be spite. Four movies in this franchise and they all suck ass. Just let the ****ing rights revert. Jesus.
Darth Krawlie 6,128
I don't even think marvel cares about the four anymore anyway. Bet your ass they want Doom, Surfer, and the rest of the cosmic characters, though.
Ryn 1,286
They'd likely do Galactus right.
Driver 4,539
I'd bet anything that the FF will be like Punisher and Ghost Rider and it will quietly return to Marvel. spider-man is too iconic to not go big with. marvel's plans are so worked out for years I don't see room for a FF movie. They'd fight for the X-Men, but not the FF. Meanwhile, Fox could easily put all their money into the x-men. There's enough characters and sub groups to build their own universe with. Tex 0
I guess but working the FF into Marvel is going to be a tough sell. Maybe a cameo in an Avengers flick where Thing and Hulk could go at it? To me the selling points of FF are Torch and Thing. If they can make an impact in a cameo role in a big Mavel flick I can understand another attempt to revive FF. Otherwise it just needs to die. Any way you cut it Plastic Man just sucks.
Gman 42
So who here of the Nightly Gang is going to take one for the team, see this monstrosity, and report back to us?
ShadowDog 2,168
NOT IT!
Guest
I nominate Krawlie. Or maybe this should be part of the moderator's job? Ryn....

Guest
Glad my son is too young because I know I will cave on all movies he wants to see unless they're inappropriate for him.
Jacen123 1,931
I'll see it eventually, though hopefully that won't be until it comes to tv. If I wasn't backlogged on other movies in the theater right now, though, I might otherwise be willing to go see it just because.
CoLA 180
I would go since I have a thing for bad movies! The main reason I probably won't is because I'm sure it will leave theaters quick and hit home video in no time.
Darth Krawlie 6,128
Apparently fox is handing out surveys after showings, asking people what they should do with the FF franchise. ****ing lol.
Driver 4,539
So they'll ask average movie goers before going to Marvel?
Darth Krawlie 6,128
I imagine anyone with even the slightest bit of knowledge of movie rights will tell them to give/sell them back to Marvel. But yeah, pretty goddamn stupid. Is there any franchise Fox hasn't completely bungled at one point or another?
Guest
Why don't they try basing a movie on the comics? I know, stupid idea.
