I guess I should love TSO, despite them being a novelty band that very few people have heard of outside North America. But the fact that they essentially destroyed Savatage, one of my all time fave bands, just makes me bitter.

"Gutter ballet" is pretty high on my list, come to think of it. Maybe not top ten, but definitely top 20.

Hell the song that made TSO is a Savatage song. Literally. There is no difference between Sarajevo on Dead Winter Dead and Other Stories. They didn't even re record it. I've come to accept that Savatage is no more. Olive in almost every interview says that even a reunion record doesn't interest them. At this stage in life I can see how padding the bank account for your families future is a good idea. TSO does put on a hell of a live show though.

Yeah, but the part I don´t get is why all the semi-Savatage bands like Circle II Circle and Jon Oliva´s Pain are around. Or why Jon suddenly did a solo tour like a side project to the side project. At least he sang "Edge of thorns" at SRF, that made me happy.

When I was a teen:
Metallica: Fade to Black
Tool: Lateralus

in college:
The Postal Service: Give Up
Sigur Ros: ()

The Mars Volta: De-Loused in the Comatorium

Now:

Mumford and Sons: Sigh No More
TV on the Radio: Dear Science
Trampled by Turtles: tie between "Palomino" and "Stars and Satellites"

My changing music tastes are largely what convinced me to never get a tattoo.

I’ve always fancied live performances over studio recordings. There’s something about a live performance that brings out the essence of an artist’s work. So I’ve always preferred to listen to those types of albums, such as:.

The Beatles - “Live at the BBC” and “On Air – Live at the BBC Volume 2”

The Yardbirds - “The BBC Sessions”

Nirvana - “MTV Unplugged in NY” and “From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah”

Héroes del Silencio - “Tour 2007”

Enrique Bunbury - “Gran Rex” and “Madrid 51”

Aterciopelados - “Reluciente, Rechinante y Aterciopelado”

Aside from live albums like those, I do also like:

The Beatles - “Rubber Soul” and “Revolver”

Paul McCartney - “Band on the Run”

Paulina Rubio - “Ananda”

Caifanes - “El Nervio del Volcán”

Ice T - “Original Gangster”

Public Enemy “It Takes a Nation of Millions...” and “Apocalypse 91”
