NumberSix
Wedge's future is open. Wedge could have no children, he could have seventeen and never have been a parent to any.Really not helping my quest to get David Tennant into this movie.

Mara Jade Skywalker
People were rightly upset. They could have, you know, said that more women were being cast. We didn't know. That said, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Good news. Good, good news.

Good God a Bear
The whole diversity thing was nothing but a big eyeroll for me. Cast roles based on storyline and talent not affirmative action.
Driver
But it's deeper than that. The storyline is most often made that way because studio marketing demands it. The problem isn't "we just cast a bunch of white dudes" it's the vast majority of cinema is marketed and made for white dudes and anything with more than 3 women is a chick flick. It's symptom of a much bigger issue that runs very deep through most of society. It may or may not be cinema's job to fix it, but when you have a pop culture corner stone like Star Wars that appeals to a broad audience, to not take advantage of this position to do something different is kind of lame. R.CAllen
Wikipedia says Gwendoline Christie's height is 6'3 so I'm betting she's been cast as Mallatobuck aka Mrs. Chewbacca.

Right, because JJ Abrams is famous for his willingness to share information with the public.
NumberSix
They should just bring back the holiday special actress for that role.Chewbacca's life partner was played by a guy named Mickey Morton. That's a pretty progressive family dynamic for 1978 TV.
