I've never seen a thread of such vital importance contain so little actual information.

I could watch the 15 seconds of the Falcon diving and the title card with the theme in the background on loop for at least a few hours before I got tired of it.

The FORCE AWAKENS   is an awesome title!     and yes, I have Awakened myself, lol     27 June 2001 was my first day here. I can remember talking about Attack of the Clones and stuff.   Fun Times....

Star Wars has been Easter Egged (EEd) in Once Upon a Time (OUaT) since the second season. Tron has also been EEd.

For the uninitiated OUaT is essentially the video game Kingdom Hearts without Final Fantasy and written by people that don't know what Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy is.

Various recent bits of "news" that may or may not be worth noting:

Star Wars is coming out in 2015, whether it's ready or not. (backed up by today's release date)

Arndt got the ax because he couldn't (or wouldn't) rush to make the deadline. From JJ:

It became clear that given the time frame and given the process and the way the thing was going that working with Larry in this way was going to get us where we need to be and when we needed to be. Working with Larry Kasdan, especially on a Star Wars movie is kind of unbeatable. ...

Working with Michael was a wonderful experience and I couldn’t be a bigger fan of his or adore him more, He’s a wonderful guy and was incredibly helpful in the process. [This event] doesn’t preclude working with Michael again in the future, he is one of the best writers around.

And one bit that isn't really news but I don't know where else to put it:

Fans write/animate "Open Letter" to JJ Abrams asking him not to screw it up

and

JJ Abrams responds!

I don't mind a rush (or perhaps better said an adamant time table). Creativity can be born from limitations. The OT had pressure with schedules, finances and technological limitations and it is far superior to the Prequels which for most intents was Lucas Gone Wild. That's simplistic, but I think still valid.

IS IT?!

Cause he got really lazy by AOTC/ROTS. Am I the only one bothered by the fact Zam Wessel's gun sounded like a tie fighter? Or that the lightsaber ignition sounds started getting swapped around?

yes
