What is your diet?

Mostly chicken and veggies with some grains. I am hoping to contain my high blood pressure by diet and exercise because I don't wanna take pills.

I usually eat oatmeal or whole grain something for breakfast with fruit. My coffee is black now. No sugar and no creamer.

Then for lunch I eat chicken something. I usually like chicken with rosemary, thyme, lemon and veggie like a whole steamed zuccini or broccoli and switch to hot tea for the rest of the day.

Dinner is a salad.

With nutz or fruit for a snack.

The hardest change was to eat more earlier in the day and less at night. For twenty years breakfast was just coffee and lots of it.

Shrimp is pretty low in calories, but can be high in cholesterol. Everything in moderation, though. Shrimp tacos can be pretty good.

Yeah. It's gonna be like three pieces that I stir fried with some homemade sauce and thrown in a salad with crushed cashews.

the English language needs to expand its lexicon more (well, I was reminded more than learned).

Kummerspeck: "grief bacon" German for someone who gains weight from emotional overeating.

Backpfeifengesicht: German for a face that cries out to be punched.

Koshatnik: Russian for seller of dead cats.

Neko-neko: Indonesian for the colleague whose ideas only make things worse.

You know that someecard that's going around Pinterest about how proud you are when you're re-pinned, because it validates your good taste?

I prefer being followed by legit organizations.

The top of my hand was twitching just now, so I looked down and it looked like some sort of insect was running around under the skin. I honestly tried to crush it.

Also not on drugs. Maybe they'd make me act normally?

the wind outside my kiosk smells like dead fish. Every time I open the window to help a customer I have to suppress a gag reflex.

I reallyreally hate fish.

I've taken my kid to the doctor 4 times since mid-December. Do I need to tell the daycare to stop letting the kid lick the toliet seat?

Or...just have them lick it more at home. Y'know, build up an immunity.

Actually, the doctor just told us to tell the daycare to learn how to take a temperature properly because she doesn't have a fever OR ear infection. My husband is on his way to the daycare to read them the riot act. I think we're on the verge of being "those parents" and requesting a room change with new teachers.

Better to have them check and be wrong than ignore and have the baby end up sick with nobody noticing, I would think.

Day Cares are a boon for Doctors. They stir up hysteria and you don't want to be wrong with your kid because the guilt of choosing to ingore it will make you feel so bad. Or in the case of my Mom, make you drink gallons of red wine of the crappiest variety until you're pickled to forget (My sister was sent home because she had a mild stroke in the third grade - by sent home I mean first she went to the emergency room then my mom was given a card to speak with specialist about her heart which my mom thought was about allergies. Now Tina's got a kidney transplant and is on meds for life over her heart issues and such).

It's more that she was fussy and we felt that they came up with an excuse to send her home. Her "fever" was 100.4, barely enough to get her sent home and the doctor was unable to read anything over 99. We've really been struggling with them to accurately report some things, and I've taken so many half-days for when she really is sick that my boss is starting to get pissed. We didn't have any problems like this until she moved up to the toddler classroom.

Oh my gosh, she is such a little peanut. So precious! And her giraffe is shrinking at an astounding rate.

And Destiny, that is the first thing I thought when you said she didn't actually have a fever. Somebody doesn't want to deal with a grumpy/tired/fussy/etc baby so the magic thermometer comes out!
