Does anyone remember what happened when Disney bought Pixar?

NOTHING. Pixar actually gained more control and benefited more from the deal.

You guys are overreacting.

Iger discusses the Marvel acquisition.

Can someone tell me what he says? No sound on my computer.

Imagine the crossover potential.

I'd love to see 'The Punisher vs. the Disney Channel.'

As long as Punisher wins.

*boom* Blows away Jonas Brothers

*rat-a-tat-tat* There goes Hanna Montana.

If THAT had happened....

*shudders*

I'd snap, finally build the doomsday device I've been putting off, and then end the world.

Yeah, I don't understand the dislike for Disney in this case. Next to Warner Bros., Disney is my favorite company working in the business and I don't see this being a negative at all. A LOT WORSE could have happened, people!

Since Disney owns Buena Vista it's certainly possible!

I realized BV is an arm of Disney, but I question he chances as many companies just sit on properties they own, even when there's a known fanbase wanting DVD releases (ex. Time-Warner owns Filmation's live action Shazam, but makes no moves to release the cult favorite).

yeah, but what WOULD you if Marvel had been bought by Newscorp?

Would I have to let you press the button on my doomsday device?

Wow. 4 billion dollars for a comics company started by Stanley Lieber and Jacob Kurtzberg? Walt Disney must be rolling in his grave.

Walt wasn't antisemitic, just wanted to clear that up and ruin the joke in the process.

Disney was born in the early 20th century. In the midwest. EVERYONE was antisemitic in those days. Antisemitism didn't become unacceptable until the '60's.

Maybe he wasn't as antisemitic as he's been made out to be, but judging by his politics and how conservative he was, he likely WOULD have been antisemitic.

I wanna see Franklin Richards pop up in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Man, you beat me to it. A Marvel world in Kingdom Hearts 3 would be incredibly awesome. Make it happen!

Far as I remember, the only real consequences from New World's tenure were comics based on Freddy Krueger and Sledge Hammer! After they sold Marvel off to Ron Perelman, that's when the nightmare years began.

He grew pretty conservative after the studio strike and his reasoning that it was communist led. Throughout his adult life, he did make some politically incorrect statements but I don't believe he was at all a racist.

Stan Lee's thoughts on the Disney/Marvel merger:

And I hate myself for not buying Marvel stock earlier. I expect the prices to skyrocket now. Dammit. Maybe I can get in before the purchase is finalized.
