HANFAN
The Nick Adams Stories have been sidelined for now. I dove headfirst into Terry Goodkind's Confessor last night. I was up way past my bedtime reading. Today is going to hurt. lol.
bonnie13
I am trying to finish Watership DownOh, I had given it up early. It was boring me, so I read the ending chapter and was satisfied and didn't want to read anymore of how he got there.
Copper
I'm reading Gil's All Fright Diner. My sister gave me a guilt trip that I never read the books she suggests anymore so I told her to pick out any book she wanted and I'd read it. It's actually really funny. I could use that right about now.
HANFAN
Is it a comedic horror? That's quite the name.
Sonny
Funny is always good. But what type of funny? Satire? Witty dialogue? Slapstick? Situational? Sarcastic? Something else?
Copper
It's just a silly absurd little story. It's about a vampire named Earl and a werewolf named Duke. They get work at Gil's All Night Diner after they help the lady who runs it kill off a bunch of zombies. Apparently she's having a zombie infestation problem and they promise to look into it. It turns out that the town the diner is located in has a lot of weird supernatural things happening. zombie cows. vampire turkey's. the purple people eater at the golf course spontaneously burst into flames for a month and extinguished itself just as spontaneously with only the word "repent" burned above it's three eyes. Things like that. turns out Earl and Duke need to help save the world. like I said. absurdist humor. I liked it a lot.

Iceheart
Is that one of her romance novels, or one of her crime fiction novels?
Copper
more toward the former than the latter. It's a trilogy, and has a lot of fantasy elements to it, actually. I haven't really gotten very far into it. She's my guilty pleasure author.
Angylkat
My guilty pleasures author is Catherine Coulter...just because her historical romances are well-researched. Going to be starting in Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead soon. I just finished culling through Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 1560 - 1620
Iceheart
My guilty pleasures author is Catherine Coulter...just because her historical romances are well-researched. Her Rosehaven was the first romance novel I ever read... she definitely writes better romances than your typical Harlequin I also read about 3/4 of her Blow Out while I was working one day... it was really good, especially since I don't like crime novels all that much... but I was working security in a throughly dead spot of the building, and it scared the living crap out of me

Arica
I just finished American Gods. Holy wow, that was awesome! :plotzes: My new 2nd-favorite book, only topped by LOTR.
ShadowDog
It was bad ass, wasn't it? The creepiest part for me wasn't even a big part of the overall novel. But that freak who was putting girls in cars creeped me out the first time I read it. Also the reveal of a certain someone towards the end of the novel. You know, the dude with the arrow. *wink* *wink*
LadyGuinevere
Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts. ... shut up I'm assuming that it's not related to the play/musical of the same name? I'm currently reading two books, silly old me! A new Pern one (uncorrected proof) and the fourth (?) Wheel of Time book, which I'm mixed about.
