Lets see, am readin two books at the same time... as is usually mine want.

1. Pirates! by Celia Rees... I only just thru a couple of chapters, so far not impressed. Tis a tale 'bout two females who take to the high seas as Pirates.

2. Never Say Never by Elizabeth Waite... this is a goode one, am almost done with it actually. Tis a tale 'bout a family in a sleepy town somewhere in England that is better off than most of that country during the time of the Great Depression and WWII. This town and its folks take in unwanted children for a two week holiday and how one family in particular fell in love with the two boys they took in. The story follows them around and how they ended up actually being a family, if not legally. Its very sobering and could apply to our time period.

In case ye be wondering, I have a rather varied reading list. Mine all time fav tis fantasy, tho I do like to read fiction, nonfiction, biographies, whodunits and such. Not big into comics or graphic novels, unless one o ye lot can recommend some that are really goode.

Crooked Little Vein, the debut novel from comics writer Warren Ellis, a conspiracy-minded detective road-trip paean to mainstream America. So far it's the most disgusting thing I've read in years. Start by wrapping your head around the term "Godzilla porn", then hold on tight as it spirals downward from there.

Once I finish that tomorrow at work, I'll be counterbalancing it with Lake Wobegon Days, a copy of which I've owned since college -- it was an optional requirement in a seminar on satire -- but never made time to sit down and peruse.

I'm finishing up re-reading Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince so I can re-read HP & The Deathly Hallows. I have James Patterson's 'The Beach' laying on a table looking at me rather patiently ;) But since it's summer and I've been at work and helping Icy move house - I'm only up for fun reading at the mo.

It's that the Lake Wobegon, Minnesota? I think it's Minnesota. And isn't there an old-time radio program (well, it has that feel anyway) called Lake Wobegon? I've heard it a few times and it's rather amusing.
