Quite a few people have expressed a concern to me recently about the current voting system and how it is open to alias voting. Considering the fact that we have actual cash prizes, I think this is a valid concern. So I'm going to try a new method of voting this time around. We'll do the poll for the published poems like normal since there are no cash prizes involved there.

But for the Nightly poet portion of the contest, we're doing PMs this time. PM me your votes. I swear to keep all votes confidential and won't even tell my best friends who voted what. And I have no problem with you guys voting for yourselves, there is no shame in that. I've voted for myself more than once along the way. So go for it.

Vote for your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. Every first place vote will earn a poem 5 points, every second place vote earns 3 points, and every 3rd place vote earns 1 point. The poem with the most points wins the contest. It's just that easy.

Voting Deadline: Wed, May 16th, 11pm EST

The list of entries and authors. (if I overlooked someone [as I almost did with Chatham because he talked a little before providing the link and so I almost missed it] please for the love of God mention it and link here ASAP. But I think I got everyone. And NO voting for my poem, it's not eligible! )

My entry

My entry:
We knew but we denied it ...

aaaand mine is done: between two breaths

"Mumbler"

Four Letter Words

The End

Moonlight Secrets

Sonny's Limerick

Guess I won't win.

By the way, I don't have to mention that the first, second, and third place votes you submit have to be for different poems, do I? LMFAO (just thought of THAT loophole  )

Just a reminder to all of you weasels out there, my poem is not part of this competition. The next person who votes for my poem will become the subject of my next poem, entitled: "Quack, Quack, I'm a duck! I can't read directions worth a ****!"

:P ;)

edit: i would fix it by changing the first two words in the second line to can't you that way, making them flow easier with the first line, by having same sounds repeating. :D

So Ericka makes me feel like a failure sometimes.

I got offline last night at like 11 and I was still talking to her. I was pretty tired, so right to bed for me.

I wake up in the morning, and finally get around to checking Nightly at 8:30.

only to see that she's coherent enough to post before I even got out of bed.

FAIL.

I've sent my votes in - can I just give a big  to everyone! There are so many good entries, it was extremely hard to choose :) I suck at poetry personally, so I'm in awe of anyone who can write it :)
