You'll regret it this fall when the 360 actually has RPGs and your PS3 is collecting dust while waiting for anything. Right now as far as RPGs go, you just have ports of games like Oblivion and the hope that FFXIII will be out by the end of 2008 here in the states. However, this year the 360 will have Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and Eternal Sonata. If you like games like Fable and Oblivion (which I don't, but you might) then Fable 2 and Mass Effect (non-Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic style game) are also coming.
I'm not sure if you've followed the big two: Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. They are made by Hironobu Sakaguchi's new company, Mistwalker. He's the original creator of the Final Fantasy series, just in case you didn't know. Also working on those two games is a little guy known as Nobuo Uematsu, the Final Fantasy music dude. Blue Dragon, which is coming out in August, also features the artist from Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest. It's like a Final Fantasy rebirth. Lost Odyssey is less colorful than Blue Dragon and looks to be a strong competitor against the Final Fantasy series. It is coming out as a worldwide release both here and in Japan around Christmas. Those two games alone justify a 360 purchase for any RPG fan.
I know you probably want a PS3 for Final Fantasy XIII, just like everyone else here, but just wait until we see what's going to happen. If you can't think of a game that you are really excited about getting for the PS3, then why rush?
I totally agree! Hense why my next big video game related buy will more than likely be a 360. There are several games on this system that I want to play right now rather than wait a year for the PS3 to catch up with their new good games. Not saying I don't plan on buying a PS3, just it's not a priority right now.
