Darth Wicket
LOL - that was great. It kicked people's brain's asses! I think FJ has traditionally been difficult in SJ. All contestants are a combined 90 for 206 in FJ. However, all contestants are a combined 100 for 122 in Daily Doubles. Maybe we should start making the Daily Doubles more difficult. This is also kind of surprising because in the past, less time was given to solve a Daily Double than FJ.

Darth Wicket
You're late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You left too soon. Maybe NJP realized that the person with the first clue correct only went on to win the championship 19 out of 42 times (01, 02, 03, 07, 08, 09, 10, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 29, 33, 35, 36, 37). bonnie13
That could be. It is usually me that is first in line. Do you have stats on who started first? Primbud
This is also kind of surprising because in the past, less time was given to solve a Daily Double than FJ. I think FJ has traditionally been difficult in SJ. All contestants are a combined 90 for 206 in FJ. However, all contestants are a combined 100 for 122 in Daily Doubles. Maybe we should start making the Daily Doubles more difficultI'm not so sure about that. Seeing as how we seem to create FJ clues that seem more intense and have to be "followed" in some curvy roundabout way in order to be solved. I think we subconsciously or consciously do this because we know contestants have a longer time to reply. And the relative ease of DDs compared to FJs is mostly b/c we know they have less time with which to respond. I think therefore that DDs turn out be just the most difficult of the regular clues, but the FJ clue has to take on the responsibility of an entire round. the person with the first clue correct only went on to win the championship 19 out of 42 times (01, 02, 03, 07, 08, 09, 10, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 29, 33, 35, 36, 37)So if Lucas1138 doesn't win here, it would match the longest such streak? (Of dubiousity??) Is that similar to the rooty tooty fresh and fruity?Absolutely not.

Darth Wicket
I was reviewing the records recently and was amazed that Darth Irish's 123000 point game came on only 13 clues correct. So, I decided to create a new stat just for fun. Points Per Clue Correct. This would take the amount of points a contestant has in a game or their career (except for Final Jeopardy points) and divide it by the number of clues correct. Sort of like how much bang for the buck one gets. I calculated the career records for this stat, but not the individual game ones. I think I might add that to the program to find out which contestants have recorded the Game highs for Points Per Clue Correct. Here are the career records for contestants with at least 3 games played : Career Points Per Clue Correct (minimum 3 games played):1. Darth Irish 1177.992. Nomaa Jedi Piarra 788.213. Darth Wicket 787.014. Primbud 761.615. Darth Lohr 748.896. Lucas1138 740.437. Pat Bowen 694.348. Otanku 648.659. Austin 592.8610. bonnie13 568.2011. Pharoah JZA 553.3612. Ms. Spam 495.0013. Primbud
How efficient. This reminds me of when I used to score my Jeopardy watchings and I found out that an average clue on the show was worth ~$450, so in accordance with my clues correct minus clues incorrect, how much I'd theoretically earn. bonnie13
Oh, you two. I would be depressed with knowing how much I could have earned. Especially right this second.
Darth Wicket
so in accordance with my clues correct minus clues incorrect That's a good point and I was trying to figure out what the right combination would be. I thought maybe (total points - fj points) / (clues correct + clues incorrect). So (clues correct + clues incorrect) would be total clues attempted since the points also count negative points, but it does not count for the fact that people may get awarded points for the same or next minute rule. But, I thought for now this is still a decent indicator. Maybe I will change it up when I add it to the program. EDIT : Upon further review...maybe I think I might decide to probably leave it like it is. EDIT AGAIN : I think I will change it to (total points - fj points) / (clues correct + clues incorrect). I thought of the case where two players have the same amount of points (let's say 15000), but Player A has 20 clues correct and 0 clues incorrect. While, Player B has 20 clues correct and 10 clues incorrect. So PPCA for Player A = 15000/20 = 750and PPCA for Player B = 15000/30 = 500I think this would indiciate Player A is the better player since Player A got the same amount of points with less clues attempted. So, I would just need to change the formula and stat name to Points Per Clue Attempted. And just not worry about the same/next minute rules. I don't want to complicate things too much. Primbud
Edit: On third thought, I think I'll leave it alone. Oh, sorry, I got caught in the waves. I was going to suggest adding that clues correct percentage but even though this would demonstrate that in a different perspective, it probably wouldn't be conducive to actually obtaining a proper stat.
