  1. I happened to find the old link in my computer last night so thought I’d drop in and say hey and this seemed to be the most appropriate thread. Been dealing with being a caregiver for elderly parents. Dad passed from Pulmonary Fibrosis about a year ago and still caring for my Mom with dementia. Between that and work not a lot of time for anything else.

But hey! I’m going to try to pop in more often now that the link reminded me this place exists.

  2. On the idea that now this is done, yay... this is probably the lamest story they could have done on whole from TFA thru.

In this film everything except Ghost Han / Leia Training Flashback sucked hard. The opening crawl, btw, what the ever loving **** was that horse****? I would rather rewatch the Creepy Uncle Luke scene a million times in a row than ever watch this film trilogy again.

I am totally gonna cherry pick these films now, just like Star Trek movies. Star Wars is only the OT. I am on that train fully now. There are no episodes numbers. Its Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi... and the Holiday Special, so I can remind myself how Star Wars always kinda sucked so whats the big deal. But screw all this other EU like bull**** from the Prequels on.

BTW, I have been to Galaxys Edge (I am actually sorry for not hooking up yet again, Tank, its seriously not intentional, short visit yadda yadda). Anyway, that place sucks too. I was so annoyed when the LARPing cast members wouldnt give me a straight ****ing answer over where the god damn bathrooms were... Shut the hell up with the bright suns nonsense, I gotta wiz. Also the Falcon ride blows, my group had random morons piloting and they wouldnt do anything except just sit there. I was like, so I waited a ****ing hour so you idiots could just have us crash repeatedly, I said that in my head, of course, I was Mr Rogers in person. Tho in fairness maybe they were piloting the Falcon the same way everyone in this ST does. That said, I have seen a video of the Resistance ride, that does look cool. God dammit, Disney, I thought I was out. ;-)

This rant just reminded me of the old crabby man who stands in his door screaming at all the neigborhood kids to get the hell of his yard.

  3. Yeah, depression makes you not want to do anything/care about anything. Even makes you lose your appetite.

When I had a really bad episode of anxiety and depression about 8 years I ago, I was losing on average 4-5 pounds per week.

I'm happy again so now I'm back to being a fattie

  4. I agree with Tank. I feel the future for Star Wars is the streaming service with limited series. I don't know how everyone else feels but once the Skywalker saga is done, I don't know that I would necessarily be excited about other Star Wars movies. It's just like with The Mandalorian. If that was a movie, I'd be like 'meh.' But I am stoked for the series.

  5. It seems it is always the Halloween episode where the twist occurs. But I don't see how they can have a Halloween episode in a story about summer camp, so who knows....let me know if I should tune back in. I'm going to keep recording in case i find out it does turn around.

  6. Maybe it was because I have heard a bunch of people griping and complaining about the "failure" of Galaxy's Edge and had low expectations but I went Monday at WDW and fell in love with the place. It was so immersive and felt so isolated. The stormtroopers walking around was on point and loved how they would stop and interrogate people. Seeing the Millenium Falcon full scale was def an overwhelming moment. And then to be inside the Falcon and the cockpit was just too much information for me to process.

In the Droid workshop R2D2 was rolling around and interacting with people. He would respond to your questions and when I asked if I could have a picture with him, he beeped and spun around next to me.

A lot of beef I have been reading is it wasn't set during the OT. I'm okay with it being within the ST timeline. The kids of today are more familiar with it so it only makes sense. Seeing one girls eyes light up when Rey stopped and talked to her was proof positive they made the right decision. I also find it funny everyone is complaining that it is only 1 ride (soon to be 2) and shops. Didn't seem to hear that complaint with either of the Harry Potter additions at Universal and it is the same concept.
