  1. Back in 2007, me and a friend went to a Tool concert (Melt Banana opened for them, look them up!) and we split up 3 grams of shrooms. For years, it was hard to describe the look of the crowd of 25,000 people in an indoor arena. That is until the movie World War Z came out and the scene where thousands of zombies are piling and running on top of each other trying to breach the top of the city wall. Looked just like that.

  2. Theres Tool fans, and then theres THOSE Tool fans. And I completely agree.

With me, Im just a Tool fan. As for this album, its been well worth the 13 year wait. Danny, Adam, and Justin are highlighted on this album like no other album before this one. Maynard is vulnerable in his lyrics. This is a band that has evolved from their last album and have put the last 13 years in perspective on this album. Do I think its their last album together? I dont think so. But its definitely a band that knows that their time is limited. Everyone outside of Justin is 60 or damn near it.

As for songs, Invincible and Descending are the 2 songs that stick out the most for me. And its hard to just call them songs. Theyre 12-13 minute movements. Descending is probably my favorite. I love how Maynard is mostly front and center the first 6-7 minutes of the song, then the last 6-7 minutes, Danny, Adam and Justin just play off of each other and have an opportunity to play their asses off.

  3.

Disney is probably going to gross about 11 Billion or so this year when its all said and done. They still have Frozen 2 and Star Wars in their pocket later this year. And they want 50/50 money split for all Sony Spidey films going forward? Get out of here. I dont disagree that it was better for the Spider-Man films to have the MCU blessing, but I certainly dont think its fair for Disney to demand such a ridiculous cut.

I don't disagree that Disney is bordering on monopoly territory, but I do disagree with the idea that they weren't due a bigger cut.

If I were the head chef of a restaurant working on making a profitable dish that everyone loved, I'd certainly want more than a dime for every dollar made too.

Completely agree they deserve a bigger cut, but 50/50 is absolutely ridiculous.

  4.

The whole Mara Jade thing....look, we treated them like absolute ****. I remember their transitioning thread and it being archived for years. Im glad its gone. We were ***holes.

We were, but it didn't help that they were a troll, an idiot, and semi-literate. We were a lot nicer to Evolence.

I don’t disagree there. I forgot all about Evolence, but now remember all of that quite vividly now.

  6. Its so good isnt it? It only one track, but I really enjoy Maynards vocals. Over the years he doesnt scream as much as he used to live, and I remember reading or watching an interview where he said hes changing his vocal range because he just cant do that shit anymore. But I love it.

  7. I was waiting until midnight to so I could start streaming their albums. I’m so stoked, it’s about time. Thrilled for their new album. Saw them live for the 5th time back in May, and they never disappoint.

  8. My son has been in TKD for about 14 months. Hes the opposite of a spaz. Hes pretty laid back and chill, if anything lacks a bit of confidence. But TKD has really helped with his confidence. Hes actually really good at it. And he knows it. We go to every tournament and he usually does pretty well. His last tournament he got 1st in sparring, 1st in weapons sparring, 3rd in forms, and 3rd in weapons forms. When he is about to spar, he turns on that switch and turns into a little asshole. I love it. Hes such a chill and laid back dude, but can turn it to 11 when hes about to compete.

  9. I had a Jeep for 8 years and put 280,000 miles on it. Best vehicle I ever had. Most expenses were just routine mainteance. Had a tirod replaced and a couple other things, but thats because of all the mikes I was able to get out of it. My mom had a grand Cherokee for 8-9 years and I know she had over 200k miles on it, no major issues.

Now, I did have a for fusion for about 3 years after my Jeep, and got rid of it for my VW because it had transmission issues, which after doing some research, come to find out, Ford Fusions are notorious for transmission issues.

  10. I have a 2015 Volkswagen SEL TSi 2.0 turbo. i bought it used in 2016 when and it had 3k miles on it. Right now its sitting on 52k. Ive had zero issues. Zero complaints. I love the turbo. Its a zippy, roomy mid size car.

  11. Season 3 really ramped up the gore, I was a little surprised myself. But I thought seasons 1 and 2 were okay enough for him to watch with me, so I figured season 3 would be around that same kind of level. It was not. Season 4 is probably 2 years away anyway, which by that time, as long as its not changed to an MA rating, Ill have zero issues of him watching it.

  12. Just finished it. It was alright. It felt flat. Seasons 1 and 2 built up to something. Finding will in season 1. Getting mind flatter out of will and El reuniting with the gang in season 2. This was just....meh.

And I know critics are critics, and sometimes they dont know shit. But it baffles me how theyre praising season 3 when they bashed season 2, which I thought was on par with season 1 and even surpassed it in some areas.

  13. I rewatched season 1 and 2 with my son (his first time watching) and we finished up last week so were pumped and ready for season 3. Hes 9.....hes been wanting to watch it for some time, because hes seen bits and pieces of it when I watched the episodes and I would shoo him away. But he handled them well! I dont mind him watching most pg-13 rated content (every super hero movie ever) so much as its the scary stuff Im stranger things that I was concerned about.

The cool thing is, we started playing D&D together about 4-5 months ago, so he was amazed that the show started off with kids playing D&D and many of the connections with D&D. That entertained him a lot.

  14. I'd be super cool with never seeing another movie or TV show set in either the 50s or 60s again. Super tired of that time period and aesthetic.

I agree! It’s why up until about 3-4 months ago, I never watched an episode of Mad Men, ever! And then I did, and.....got hooked. Watched it all. And begrudgingly, that show is top 5 of all time for me.

Other than that, fuck that time period.
