  1. I had bariatric sleeve surgery done August 10th, and I’m down almost 90lbs since surgery. I’ve also completely changed my diet. My #1 priority is protein. I focus on getting at least 80 grams a day. I usually get a head start by drinking a premier protein shake which is 30 grams of protein. I’ve never done well with breakfast in the mornings, so a simple protein shake in the morning is best for me. I have a lot of prepped snacks/food ready to go as well. Hard boiled eggs, sliced cheeses, sliced deli meats, Greek yogurt, starkist tuna packets, chicken breasts, etc. I stay away from heavy carbs such as pasta and bread.

Getting full before surgery and getting full after surgery is very different. Before, I would still eat after I was full. Now, when I start to get full, that’s my sign that I need to put down the food. Otherwise I get incredibly uncomfortable and if I’m not careful, will throw up whatever I over ate.

I have mentioned my crippling fear of aging and death here a few times.  Looking in the mirror and seeing signs of aging spin me into panic attacks.  I use morning and night anti-wrinkle face AND eye cream, Rogain, hair dye, and Nioxin hair products.  I have noticed my hair line slowly receding (Rogain doesn't help with that) and it is stressing me out.  I am going on a Disney family cruise in October and I am sure many pictures will be taken causing me additional stress.  I have a consultation later this week.  Has anyone else had any cosmetic surgery?

Having been trading the same 40 pounds up and down for half my life, I’ve thought about getting a lap band as the older I get the harder the “down” part of that cycle gets.

Im I’m the final stages of my 6 month Bariatric program. These last 6 months, I’ve changed my diet and eating habits with my dietitians, have had several tests done including a sleep study which diagnosed me with sleep apnea. That study and the cpap machine I now have has changed my life 10 fold. And today I just finished my cardiology screening, which I passed, and finally greenlights me for my Bariatric surgery. In the beginning I had the option to just go in and get the surgery done, but I felt going through this special program and changing the way I eat and learning new ways to cook and prep, would benefit me more in the long run. Just with doing these changes in my diet these last several months, I’ve lost 32 lbs. I was north of 380 at one point, and now I’m down to 348.

Hobbes, looking good on that hair transplant. Hope you’re feeling better and you see the results you’re looking for!

As I lamented during Loki, the multiverse makes for your alters not necessarily even being the same species as you. Again-- Into The Spiderverse actually made this work.

Well so much for me dodging spoilers when the main page gives snippets.

I mean….are they really spoilers if you already knew? You quoted Krawlie back in August when he was talking about Tobey and Andrew being in the movie.

I only ever view this site on mobile and it’s only every displayed the original post to the starting thread.

  4. What a fun movie. Loved the screen time Tobey and Andrew got. They hit their roles out of the park. I liked the jokes between the 3 Spider-Man’s. I always thought Andrew was a great Spider-Man, I can’t remember if it was him that got the bad wrap or the 2 movies themselves, but I enjoyed the movies too.

I do not want this to be the end of Tobey and Andrew in the MCU. It looks like the multiverse is about to be thrown wide open.

Hell yes...I love me some Casey's.  If I could bring one chain from KC it wouldn't be a BBQ restaurant, it would be Quiktrip.  So I love me a good gas station.  Never had their pizza though.

YES. We have QT's everywhere here in STL. It's my go to. I like to get in and get out, and the QT employees do just that. They quickly grab my cash, or toss my debit card back at me, hastily toss all my shit in a bag, throw it at me and let me be on my way. They pretend to care JUST enough and tell me to have a nice day to where I can go on about my day and not be offended. Best gas station in the nation.

I'm not a fan of QT's pizza. they are thick and huge slices, but they seem to be almost not cooked enough. The shredded cheese is usually just barely melted. But everything else they have is great. They're the people's champion when it comes to roller items, and the other QT kitchen items, such as the shredded beef or pork burritos, etc are pretty great.

  6. I like a well done (you can ask for it to be well done) Dominos pizza. They do a better deep dish than Pizza Hut.

I like Popeyes chicken, too. Their chicken isn’t anything special, it’s good, but I go when I’m in the mood for their sides. I like their gravy and red beans and rice.

EDIT: oh and back to pizza. Casey’s General Store makes a mean pizza. Yes, it’s primarily a gas station, but they’re  all over the Midwest and I like swinging into one sometimes to get me a greasy slice.

There is Imo's in Kanas City.  I had a few friends that thought it was incredible.  I thought it was incredibly overrated. I am not partial to any style of pizza...good pizza is good pizza.  I am bias against Chicago style pizza because I worked at Uno's when I was a teenager and put on like 40lbs that summer.

Imo’s Pizza is polarizing. You either love it or hate it. It’s the cheese. It’s called provel. It’s like a mix of provolone, cheddar and Swiss. It’s gooey.

I like all pizzas. There’s a great pizza place near me called Nancy’s Pizza, and they specialize in Chicago pizzas. They’re amazing.

  8. My territory for Frito Lay is changing in 2 weeks. For the last 5 years, my territory has basically been in my backyard, and stretches about 30 minutes from my house. It’s been great. Now they’re moving me to another territory, closest area is about 15 minutes from my house which is completely fine. Unfortunately, it stretches as far as an hour and 25 minutes from my house, into another state. For those who don’t know, I live in a suburb in the St Louis area. And now I’ll be driving into Illinois, all the way to Alton, Godfrey, and Jerseyville.

The driving and just how spread out the territory is is just terrible. On top of now I’ll be dealing with STL rush hour traffic whereas before I was far enough into the suburbs I didn’t have to worry about it. And the roads in Illinois are absolutely trash. Missouri’s roads aren’t great, but Illinois is another level of suck.

  9. I’m going to completely fuck myself saying this, but I haven’t been sick in at least 3 or 4 years. Not even a head cold. Nothing. And while I did get vaccinated back in April and May of this year for COViD, I have not gotten ill from it either. Which is a miracle considering I work in this shit every single day and run into hundreds of people every day.

Wow...making billions in profits (including far exceeding profit projections) despite the delays due to the issues stemming from the winter storm in the south and still a.) paying people a low livable wage and b.) increasing the price of the product.

That sucks man...  People are making billions off of you busting your ass.

Oh I know. In 2020, Frito-Lay division carried PepsiCo to strong profits and numbers Frito-Lay will likely never see again. The Pepsi division struggled in 2020 because of all of the restaurant closures and carry out orders. Now in 2021, it’s Frito-Lay’s turn to struggle a bit and Pepsi’s turn to shine.

2020 and 2021 will be the 2 best years that PepsiCo has ever seen and will ever see for quite some time. Just another multibillion dollar company succeeding in the pandemic while everyone else suffers.

And to add to this, being a district manager, I’m in charge of a lot of things and of course, sales numbers are on top of the list. Always has been. Since overlapping numbers from March of 2020, I can count 4 weeks this year where we sold more than last year in my district. And I’m not the only district seeing this. Some districts haven’t matched a sales week from last year yet. Every fucking week I’m being asked to jump through hoops to try and get my team to hit sales numbers. Doesn’t matter that some of these stores fail to get deliveries from Frito-Lay because there wasn’t driver support so shelves stay empty for another day, generating no sales. Never mind we can’t get some of our top lines of product such as nacho Doritos and Tostitos Scoops and that space stays empty for days because we don’t have the ingredients to make them. But yeah, make sure you make plan numbers.

  11. Area/District manager for Frito-Lay. Been with Frito-Lay for 15 years. 2021 is worse than 2020. Can’t hire anyone, starting wage is $18.25 an hourly for merchandisers. 40 hours guaranteed, overtime if you want it, great benefits, 401k and a pension. I find myself running routes myself because we can’t hire anyone. We’re starting a $1000 sign on bonus for merchandisers and a $3000 sign on bonus for drivers starting next week, hopefully this will bring people in.

On top of the labor shortages, there’s a national shortage on ingredients. Such as artificial colors, dyes, certain spices, dextrose, potassium chloride, etc. this prevents us to be able to produce ‘pellet balls’, which is basically a ball of all the ingredients packed in a shell so we can produce Doritos, Lays, Cheetos, etc. So this means we are not able to make certain chips because we don’t have the ingredients to produce the chips. Which means our production these last couple of months have slowed drastically, and in turn our grain, corn, and potato farmers (Frito-Lay actually contracts out farmers to grow our corn, grain and potatoes) are over producing product (you can’t just stop shit from growing) and it’s going to waste.

Its a fucking shit show. Oh, and next week you’re going to see all Frito-Lay products increase 30-50 cents, thanks to all of these issues. We’re passing these losses down to you, the consumer. You’re welcome.

  12. Joined originally in March of 2000. A friend of mine in high school, Jedi Master Bryce, introduced me to the website. I came only for the videogames forum at the time. It was a fun time waster in our computer classes. It was nothing but arguments regarding if the N64 or PSX was better. Looking back on it now, YIKES. Gave no fucks about Star Wars at that time, had never watched a Star Wars movie in my life.

  13. Didn’t really want to make a new topic so I thought I would post this here. After nearly 4 years of hard work, literal blood, sweat and tears, failure and self doubt, finally came the culmination of a black belt for my son a couple weeks ago. I’m soooo fucking proud of him. I can’t even describe how great it felt seeing his Instructor finally tie that black belt around him after years of taking him to karate 4 days a week and endless tournaments and wiping away all of the blood, tears and snot off him from sparring matches, wins, losses and failed tests.
