So Hans Zimmer is writing the music for the reboot. That's a plus for a Zack Snyder film but for Superman, I don't know. I'm expecting something more along the lines of Gladiator now. I'd much rather have James Newton Howard from the Dynamic Duo.
No Williams theme btw.

CDs scare the hell out of me!

I think the Andy/Dwight feud was cute but Andy/Gabe... sorry Andy but Gabe is the new Jim in office romance. I mean, this could be the opposite of the Jim/Pam story and Erin leaves a guy whose better for her for the less perfect but who fits her on the ridiculous level.
I wish I could find someone like Gabe. He's seriously the perfect relationship option next to Jim. Just sayin'.
And wow, how did they get NBC to allow them to do an episode surrounding a Glee Party? They wouldn't even allow the cast of Glee to perform at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade last year.

Eh I have to agree with Rock, I thought the opening was mildly amusing but everything else was meh. Very flat and few laughs.

Dwight really had me rolling in the final scene with Oscar.

I'd like to hear a reprisal of the Fleischer Superman theme and hints of the Williams score. This is why I'd love to hear what Giacchino could do with the project; he was able to honor TOS theme and do his own work.

I like the idea of NPH as The Flash but I think at this point, he's way too old for the part.

I was dying from the time that Andy's phone went off to Erin showing up with the baby.

No way! I say either Adam Brody or Justin Timberlake. If I remember correctly, Brody came close to playing The Flash in Miller's Justice League (and Hammer was supposed to play Batman). Timberlake came very close at landing Green Lantern.

In all honesty, watch this guy act before you judge. He plays two main roles in a feature film with different personalities flawlessly, has a great physique, all in which would be perfect for Superman. Make snide remarks if you'd like but when I cast, I don't fan wank with it. This guy would make a great Superman.

Maybe I should have posted a pic with glasses on Armie like Dan did with Jon Hamm. I'll work on that!
-
Superman Returns just had a really weak script and needed a more refined tooling with one or two more rewrites and yeah, an actual third act. It also needed it's own identity. In retrospect, I really would have liked it if we had gotten the Abrams Superman story over what we got in 2006. The only problem with that is we'd have gotten either a McG or Brett Ratner rather than Abrams who is a much better director than either of those... but we'd also have a complete X-Men trilogy.
Anyway, since I'm writing to myself, I'm going to beat the drum for Armie Hammer who gave a career making performance playing the twin Winklevoss brothers in The Social Network and, oh yeah, Jon Hamm as Zod.

ONCE AGAIN:
John Hamm as General Zod.
That's better than actually having the man play Superman.
-
Hamm would be perfect for a film set in the 40s.
-
If this doesn't star Jon Hamm, I refuse to see it. I'm not kidding. He's that perfect for the role.
How about Jon Hamm as General Zod?

Spacey annoyed me as Lex but I can't stand that version of the character, even when I was a child I hated Hackman's portrayal and that was before I was spoiled by the billionaire portrayal. Bosworth is also too mousy for the role of Lois Lane. I'm hoping Elizabeth Banks turns up for the role and we get a Lex that can rival Michael Rosenbaum.
As for Kal El, I know he's a blond but I wouldn't mind Armie Hammer in the role especially after his amazing performance in The Social Network.

Ex: Tyler Bates just doesn't inspired confidence in me to believe he'll do anything memorable and original. His work for 300 was serviceable for that film but the rest of his body of work tells me he can't do anything comparable to John Williams or Shirley Walker and the crew of composers from the Timmverse.
Routh was great. James Marsden was great. Frank Langella was great. Everyone else sucked.
-
Well the score is guaranteed to suck.
-
I'm hoping Giacchino wouldn't channel the Williams score too much, similar to how he did Mission: Impossible or Star Trek. In fact, I would hope we'd get something entirely new altogether which would be fine considering how beautiful the new theme for Kirk & the Enterprise turned out.

I think I'm only going to miss Secretary's Day. From what I remember of the episode (I fell asleep), it was a bit of a chore to get through. Hence why I napped.

Do they still have the back end of S6 on Hulu? I need to catch up before starting this season and the site won't load for me right now.

Another reason why Jones and Reeves are my first picks for directing, their music collaborators. Clint Mansell or Michael Giacchino writing for a Superman film is EPIC.
-
Apparently there's a shortlist of directors going around...
I'm told they have begun meeting with a short list of directors for the job of directing Superman, the picture which will be financed by Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures. On the list: Unstoppable's Tony Scott, Let Me In director Matt Reeves, Battle: Los Angeles helmer Jonathan Liebesman (who just got the Warner Bros/Legendary job of directing Clash of the Titans 2), Duncan Jones, who just directed Source Code, and Sucker Punch helmer Zack Snyder. If Nolan submits one of the names from the story, it'll either be Jones or Reeves. Two have the least amount of baggage but the vision and skills to pull off the project; I think Nolan might favor Jones for similarities but that doesn't take anything away from Reeves who I think would put out a good film and one that wouldn't polarize the audience. Zack Snyder, who I feel is a great popcorn filmmaker a few notches below Cameron but miles orbiting over Bay, would make a kick ass Supes film if there was a lot of punching!

Bell's Palsy. Yeah, that sucks.
Superman: Man of Steel
in Superheroes!

I would say elements of Gladiator filtered more into Batman Begins/The Dark Knight than the Pirate films. I would need to listen again but I can't pinpoint where the syndrome really effects his Pirates themes which I would rate highly on his discography.
