  1. Anyone watch the episode with Lando? It's frustrating because some parts are cool, like all the parts with Lando basically. And then other parts are so corny. He tells them, whatever you do, don't open the box. So of course, they do the childish thing and open it because "he said not to so we have to." This is definitely aimed at kids.
  2. I feel the same way. What's odd is that I don't have that same sense of loss with the the Indiana Jones "OT" and it too had a newer film that made everyone groan. Could it be those films could <gasp> be better than the SW films? You can definitely make a case for Raiders being on par if not superior to them.
  3. I find myself questioning things like... In ANH why is Princess Leia such a b*tch when Han and Luke break her out of her cell? When Luke and the gang run into a group of stormtroopers in the hallway of the Death Star, Han shoots one of them, prompting all the rest to just run away? In ESB, why is there only one Star Destroyer in orbit when the Rebels are escaping Hoth? And if there's only one, why the heck do they fly right at it??? Then later when the Falcon is being chased by a Star Destroyer, two others fly right at it. This isn't a freeway where they will be able to put up a road b
  4. The episode “Idiot’s Array” will have an appearance by Lando Calrissian voiced by none other than Billy Dee Williams. I think these tidbits are all that keep me coming back to watch this series.
  5. I used to love watching the OT, until the internet came along and ruined it. Now I can't watch it without cringing.
  6. Dan Snyder anyone? To piggyback on The Choc's points about coaches: "The head coach purge happens annually though it's obvious that coaching turmoil detracts from long-term success. In the past decade, the Raiders have offloaded six head coaches--which has only made their decade-long tailspin worse. Since 1978 the Browns, Colts and Raiders have combined for 33 instances of head-coach turnover, and also mainly struggled in that period. The team with the least coaching turnover since 1978 is the Steelers, two new head coaches. And hey, look, three Super Bowl rings during the period. But thou
  7. The trailer for Terminator: Genisys has arrived: http://www.superherohype.com/news/323817-he-is-back-the-terminator-genisys-trailer-is-here#/slide/1 Before seeing this trailer I was excited for this film, but now I'm not sure what to think. especially after reading that article. I mean, did that seriously say "...and also revealing Sarah Connor was raised by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator, whom she calls 'Pops.' '
  8. Universal has launched a faux company website for the new film: http://www.masraniglobal.com/about/divisions/jurassicworld/index.html This is actually starting to look really good. I like how the first film's dino-scientist Dr. Wu is back. Provides that connection to the original.
  9. They are re-airing Spark of Rebellion with a cameo by Vader voiced by the only person who should ever voice him: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/star-wars-rebels-lands-primetime-739422
  10. You're right. And if they do it right, it can work well considering Arnold's age. Had they done it back in the 80's they would have had to put him in makeup or prosthetics to age him (a la Back to teh Future). Now he can actually just play the part of an older Conan who has become king. I think about how Clint Eastwood had the script to Unforgiven for years, but refused to film it because he wasn't old enough to play the part.
  11. I'm not sold on Palpatine being a former Jedi. But I'll wait to see how your version plays out to see if that character interpretation works for me or not. I agree on your take of Anakin being the Han Solo of the prequels though.
  12. The Conan films with Arnold should've been a trilogy with him ending is King Conan.
  13. Is this WWE internet subscription model the end of the traditional pay-per-view and affect the future of how we watch TV? http://pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/WWE_News_3/article_77141.shtml
  14. I don't know if it's just me or what but it seems weird to see Houston have a pep rally for Howard with the whole "Legacy of Bigs" theme. The only center with any true success in Rockets history is Olajuwon. Malone, Olajuwon and Sampson got it handed to them by the Celtics when they made it to the Finals in the 80's and Ming never got Houston passed the 2nd round.
  15. When I first heard about this I thought the same thing. Someone is probably blowing this story out of proportion if not just completely making it up to stir up more anti-Howard sentiment. But then I read the full article and realized there could be some truth to it. Howard and Chris Paul probably did have aspirations of playing together. And there's a good chance that Howard saw a way to make that happen with the Lakers if they followed his plan outlined in that story. In this day and age of players making pacts and behind-the-scenes plans of playing on the same team, it's not far-fetched to t
  16. It's hard to imagine the Bulls winning those six titles had they stayed with Doug Collins or the Lakers winning their five with Del Harris/Kurt Rambis.
  17. So Howard's contract with the Rockets includes an early termination option after the third year? They better do well fast or risk going through this again.
  18. They should, but improving from last season and returning to his dominant form of four years ago when he led his team to the Finals are two different things. As a Lakers fan I was just worried that what if #5 was true: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9308573/searching-dwight-howard
  19. I believe Howard to Houston is going to work out the best for both teams. In the short run, I think Nash, Kobe and Gasol will do well together without the distractions Howard brought to the team, i.e. his not liking the system, not liking the coach, their feeling he's not serious enough when it comes to winning. In the long run the team will figure out something with all that cap space coming its way. And in Houston, Howard will be free of the media and team scrutiny that comes with playing in L.A. You have to be wired a certain way to be the center of attention in places like New York, L.A. a
  20. Are those criticizing the killing of Zod in MoS being hypocritical? Good question... http://screenrant.com/man-steel-ending-superman-kills-zod-death-discussion/

  22. Red Son would make a great movie for the comic book-reading audience. The casual moviegoer watching Superman working for Stalin would go WTF is this???
  23. To reiterate what I posted years ago in this thread, Thomas Wilson was just plain excellent in every single role, particularly because he was playing what was supposed to be the same person but with different personalities: -Biff -Biff as an old man when he was a bully to George -Biff as an old man when he's subservient to George -Biff as an old man who has power and money to do whatever he wants (including getting away with murder) -Biff as a grandfather -Biff's grandson Griff -Mad Dog Tannen Mad Dog: "Forfeit? What's that mean?" Mad Dog's little stooge: "It means you win without a fight."
  24. He also played Marty as a 40-year-old. And you have to give the same props to Thomas Wilson. He played: -Biff -Biff as an old man when he was a bully to George -Biff as an old man when he's subservient to George -Biff as an old man who has power and money to do whatever he wants (including getting away with murder) -Biff as a grandfather -Biff's grandson Griff -Mad Dog Tannen My favorite lines all mostly come from Biff (or his relatives): "That's about as funny as a screen door on a battleship." "It's leave, you idiot, leave! Would you say it right, you sound like a damn fool when you
