Pootapotamus has been slowly plucking all my ornaments out of the tree and playing with them so the glass ornaments are TIED to the tree and up a bit higher or more in the under carraige. LOL

I also realize my pencil drawing of in the circular frame is crooked.

  2. I just spent 5K to get my car a new rack and pinion steering replacement and replace the head gasket and the 200,000 mile service. It's like a brand new car and NO DEBT. WOOT.

Although new car itch did settle in because I was given a loaner Corolla with a sun roof and all the bells and whistles and OMG like cars that connect to your phone?

  3. I like that tile option but it's like Classic Seattle. RAIN RAIN RAIN. Plus after a while you'll think you have hard water and want to scrub it all the time because of the lime build up. Plus that looks like early linoleum tile.

I think you should go in the complete opposite direction and go light. Something bright that will make your vanity stand out. Not yellow but a white with a darker floor would be good.

  4. Okay so stocking stuffers for kids...

I love making snake socks. Kids always need socks and you can do other things but with boys snake socks are best. And some girls.

I buy cute socks (I like argyle because the pattern is like a snake) and some buttons and felt. You sew the buttons on for eyes. I like to stack a black largish button under a white button and sew on the top of the sock like eyes near where the arch of the foot goes. Then you cut the felt in a little forked tongue out of red or pink felt and sew on the tongue at the tip of the sock by the middle finger toe. It's a hit with boys and some girls. And kids always need socks. If you're feeling adventurous you can try other animal types like bunnies or a dog and instead of a forked tongue sew felt ears near where the ankles go for kids. After a day or two and the novelty has worn off you can cut that stuff off and you got socks for a while they can wear.

Underpantz. No lie. But really who likes opening that stuff up in front of everyone. But I like awkward moments.

When it was all the rage I did disposable cameras but now I think it's even funnier to give them because who develops that damn film anyways?

They need to bring back chocolate oranges. I swear to god. Who's in charge of candy now? All the candy sucks.

T-shirts. Walmart has like $7 ones.

  5. cleared to go back to daycare and get more sickness LOL

RSV and a bunch of other yucky stuff has been making the rounds at my school and just when I think we get over the hump the winds of winter bring cedar pollen and now it's miserable allergy related stuff.

  6. I love gifting booze because it's not normally something I spend money on so I give the good stuff for the holidays. Usually hoping that someone will get me a super good rum in return.

I will use Spec's website because Spec's is ten thousand time's better than Total Wine and More, Twin Liquors or D&B's in Texas. (Twin when it has it's dollar day sales is great but Spec's has a 5% cash price discount which is awesome.)

Last year a friend asked for TX Whiskey and it's surprisingly good. It had me at honey butter banana caramel notes. LOL It went out of stock last year in San Antonio Specs $32.00

    Tx Blended Whiskey (specsonline.com)

Then there's this one, Bulleit. $49

Bulleit 95 Small Batch Rye Whiskey (specsonline.com)

While we're on the subject of Booze,

Any white wine recommendations? I got two in the family who I get a good bottle of white. They don't like dry wines as much as they life fruity not too sweet ones. I can even run to reds. I don't drink wine so I suck at that.

  8. What is it with old people and coins?

My grandma bought a roll of quarters every year for christmas to give her great grandsons. It caused all kinds of grief because it was given to kids loose in a sock that were toddlers. At christmas it was all who has the sock full of quarters? then it'd get put up because of choking hazzards. I once offered to get piggy banks for her to gift the great grand children but that was a heckin' nope. It was always a roll of open quarters in a balled up used sock.

It made her happy so we stopped stopping her from this because it was a round of circle talk and she'd still do it even though two days before she'd said well I understand a kid that's two may want to eat this maybe I should get a rattle? Then Christmas day she'd grin and under the tree would be a balled up black sock that ching chinged. It was okay as long as it was taken away shortly after unwrapping so we'd not worry about kids going to emergency rooms on Christmas but later it got funnier.

She'd give them these quarters in a tube sock and boys being 10 year oldish boys would use them as weapons.

Thankfully she passed away but god, old people and their coins. I also inherited a lot of weird travel videos and those "PRICELESS" statues that were bought from the Franklin Mint that were thanked for and oh what a memory and dumped off at Goodwill drop off that day because some other relative was super sappy about parting with such meaningful dodgy old readers digest sales schlock.

So the secret I learned dealing with certain people was to agree with the dementia stroke weirdness and then let it happen. Like if they said the sky was green I'd say yes it is and then move on because it was less frustrating than arguing the point.

  10. Yeah, I had a friend who posted about Kissinger dying and he was like ask the children of Cambodia if they mourn the loss of that guy...

I think the biggest one so far for me as been Rosalynn Carter. It was touching to hear how Jimmy asked that they have their beds arranged so they can face each other.

The Carter's pastor said this at her funeral,

"She'll tell you don't stop. There's too many homeless people in the world. There's too many people that still don't have equal rights. There's still too many people who suffer from mental illness. There's still too many people that look at the color of their skin. She'll tell you don't stop."
