So it's Rhino and Electro.
I love Paul but I didn't like The Amazing Spider-Man. If I see this at all it'll be because of Paul.
Supposedly it's the Ultimate Mecha-Rhino version they are using, not traditional Rhino.
They also say Felicity Jones will play either Mary-Jane or Black Cat.

Watership Down ... A
The black rabbit gets me every time.

I like it too, everything that is except the pot belly.

It looks exactly like his WWII costume. He wore it in his movie. I was a big fan of his movie. And so was Red Skrull. Hopefully that whole movie is on the DVD. That would be neat special feature.
But I too prefer the First Avenger costume. This new costume is okay, they're staying true to the comics at least. I'm still not sold on Superman with no undys.

Captain to Skrulls: "Get off my plane(t)!"

Looks better than this.

Ed Harris would be damn near perfect.

Why does Captain have all those zippers on his pants but no fly?

Unconventional choice but interesting.

Spacey did a great Hackman impression. But he did fit the part more than Bosworth or Langella or that little runt playing Jimmy Olsen. Why in the blue hell would anybody ask Frank Langella to fill Jackie Cooper's comedic shoes? I'm sure Langella's a nice guy but he's about as funny as Christopher Lee.
Thank god this is an origin story. You try the 007 approach with Superman and you end up with dumb ideas such as the Superkid and Lois Lane playing hard to get. To hell with that. It's reassuring to see hardcore 007ers such as THT and company warming to the idea of another origin story. I respect the desire to see 2 complete hours of super-punching but if it comes with the condition of superkids and the like, is it really worth it? Hopefully this new movie can work.

This is a nice cast. In fact the only one miscast so far is the director...
But this will hopefully erase the horrible memories of Kate Bosworth, Kevin Spacey and Frank Langella. God I hated that cast.

I like Power Suit Luthor but not in movies. Apart from the obvious Iron Man comparisons, I don't want the Luthor character reduced to superfighting Superman. He's above that sort of thing. Superman has plenty of legitimate jabronis to superfight.
Lex Luthor should be the President of the USA. I never read the comic where that happened but I love the idea and it's different.

Ursa? Jesus. I really don't know what to make of that.
Or maybe I do. Maybe it can be an origin story with a twist? Maybe Zod & Ursa can be directly responsible for Krypton's destruction? To my knowledge, the way Krypton splodes in the comics is not scientifically possible. So having Zod blow it up himself and try to do the same thing to Earth sets up a nice gritty, dark, Nolan-esque motivation for Superman.
Maybe we should ask The Good General himself.

Ah but who pays to repair the buildings, that's what I often wonder. You can't really insure for superpunch.
-
I like him too. He looks borderline Superboy, but I think he will grow nicely into Superman by the time sequels roll around. Plus he's British so he can act.

Artists impression.

So relieved. The last thing I wanted was the Alien's origin explained and ruined. Much more interested in seeing Scott return to sci-fi with a new concept.

Hans Zimmer + Superman = Eww (for now)
For now cos we'll see how it ends up. Even already in his short career he suffers from the Horner Syndrome of repeating himself ie. Pirates is just a "happy" version of Gladiator. So I hope he has more in mind than a "happy" version of the Bat-music.

It's been done once. If your gonna tell the story, tell it all. It only takes 40 minutes which still leaves you with 100 minutes for superfights plus sequels. I want Krypton. I want Smallville.

Then Eric Bana is the logical and best choice. He's a name and a Hulk to boot.
I love that Michael Emerson idea. Now I'd pay to see that!

Did anyone else here grow up with David Braben's Frontier? Well he's back and he's brought a sequel with him. The Beta is available now for you to buy and play. Not me though. I'm too poor.
I don't think I've ever been so excited about a game before. I mean come on, it's Grand Theft Auto meets Rogue Squadron!
