  1. Season 4 didn't work for me and I can't exactly put my finger on it.  I really enjoyed the first three seasons but this one seemed repetitive and didn't really seem to take the characters anywhere they haven't already been.  I found myself getting bored.

I've never liked Karate Kids 3.  Back in the day, it felt so much different than the first two.  Cheesier and much more unrealistic.  Looking at the three films now, they feel more consistent in tone, though.  Still, part 3 is still a poor film.

This set up is both Western and Samurai 101, it’s as much in the DNA of Star Wars as the hero’s journey.

I do like these stories, but with Boba Fett?   It doesn't mix.  I guess we don't get any real info about him in the OT or PT, but from what we do see, these episodes don't seem 'in character'.

Also, this show feels less cinematic than Mando did.  It feels like a TV show from a network,  not a streamer, if that makes sense.

Mando got better so hopefully this will, too.  Still optimistic.

When you put it that way, it begs the question: how many twi'lek dance girls have been me-too'ed by jedi?

We'll never know, they get fed to the rancor before they decide to speak up.

  4. All these years, I always thought that Luke entered the Palace because Leia wasn't able to get Han out.

Luke may have been a little overconfident, but I think he just thought that either he could negotiate with Jabba.  Figuring this wouldn't work, he must have thought he was good enough of a Jedi to just get his friends out by force.....with the Force.

So that's what I always thought the plan was.  Still makes no sense.

It's all a series of crazy conveniences and luck.  We should talk about what would YOU have done?!

First, I wouldn't have sent the droids at all.  Forget offering them as a gift.  Pointless.  Lando being undercover is a good idea but in the film, it served no purpose.  If the wanted a layout of the place and knowledge of entrances and exits, where everything is, fine.  They could also have found someone on Tatoooine who has knowledge of the Palace and could have given them intel as well.

Going back through this thread, it's an all time great. A lot of fantastic stuff in here.

A lot of these posts remind me of those shitty Star Wars themed stand up comedians at the SW Celebrations.

I want to come back and re-ask my biggest OT question.

What was Luke’s exact plan going into Jaba’s palace?

Jedi mind trick the fuck out of everyone and walk out with his squad, bro!

  7. Am I the only one who see the cologne commercials on the TV with Kylo Ren chasing a horse or riding a horse and think 'man, Kylo Ren really likes horses.  I mean he REALLY likes horses'.  No?   Just me?

  8. It was good, if only for some solid performances, and it's well shot.  Nothing memorable though.  Just a retelling of the first film, for the most part.

Quite a few things to nitpick but if I saw the original film at the age of 44, I'd probably nitpick the shit out of that as well.

  9. She could see that the Republic was now an authoritarian dictatorship.  Simple as that.

Anakin was a dumbass in terms of any idea of freedom and democracy.  He either refused to see it or he believed controlling the people was his idea of it.

Why did they have a cephalopod creature in the Death Star Trash Compactor, and how did it keep from getting squished?

I'd always wondered that and figured it got there on accident.  It got on the ship somehow and ended up hiding down in the garbage.

Dude, you're putting logic into the way Lucas writes dialogue? My three year old does better dialogue when playing with her Barbies.

I'm not talking about the quality, I'm just talking about his style.

Well.....quality too.  But in the opposite way you joke about.  George's plain and robotic dialogue actually backs up my point.  Lol
