Man. RDJ is so well known as Ironman, even his other movies end up in the superhero thread.

So he's a Kennedy....and due to many of his stances, the right wing media seems to be loving the guy. But again, being a Kennedy, he's not a democrat?

That’s because starting with 5 they’ve had the same director and 4 was ape-ing 3.
Oh man, I forgot about Brad Bird directing 4.

I distinctly remember 1, 2 and 3 because all three had very different styles. The rest all feel exactly the same to me.

I think Order 66 means to only kill 66 Jedi.

If only Zerimar was here he'd be able to tell us the cannon terminology for the process of cleaning the poo-dreads from Bantha fur/hair
I wonder what logic leaps they go through to see their ‘beloved’ zahn characters and others being added to the super duper terrible disney SW stories.

The more shows come out, the more I think Order 66 didn't really do anything did it?
Luke: I can't kill my own father.
Ben: Then the Emperor has already won. Well unless some of the other 50 Jedi show up and kill him instead. Did I not mention that before? Well, I am Obi Wan Kenobi....it's kinda my thing!

Yoda: When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be.
Luke: Really?
Yoda: .......uhh.....yeah sure.

Great point! But the dialogue from the first stormtrooper leads me to believe they just got to the pod and just started investigating.

Anderson m’s books were so awful it’s what made me quit the EU.
What made me quit was people riding rancors. I thought someone was fucking with me when BOBF did this.

Thrawn isn't on the original cover. He's on a reissue..
It's been a while since I've read the EU, so I'm having a hard time remembering if the Empire/alien discrimination was a GL thing or an author thing.
I would say it was heavily implied in the OT but never talked about or discussed in-scene.....not even in the novels but I could be wrong on the novels. Haven't read those since high school. Then I think the books picked it up and ran with it....but did they?

Saw it last night. A lot of things to nitpick about but overall, I really enjoyed it.

I must have missed, when it was mentioned that Thrawn was an alien. Which book was that revealed in? I'm pretty sure that I only read the 1st book.
I also have not read Heir to the Empire in a while....I read it in junior high then read it again about five or six years ago. I think Zahn went very descriptive on Thrawn in Heir to the Empire regarding his skin and eyes, etc.....
I could be wrong here....again, it's been a while!

Has anyone read any of the online rumors of Heir To The Empire finally being adapted into a movie?

We still have EU apologists hanging around here??

From what I remember in the Thrawn trilogy (it's been 25+ years since I read it), there was an anti-alien/pro-human sentiment in the Empire, which made it very rare for someone like Thrawn to make Grand Admiral. As for female officers, there were a few in EU as well (can't remember the names), and one book centered around one (admiral Daala, I think). Mara Jade is another example of a female imperial, who was the Emperor's Hand (an assassin trained in the force...a forerunner of Inquisitors I suppose).
I remember all this as well…it just never seemed to add up. Going from the films to suddenly in the EU the Empire loosens their restrictions or something. I wouldn’t necessarily call it an inconsistency but it felt off to me.

Get a dog.

I'm all about inclusion but, within the context of the SW universe, how does the Empire explain going from seemingly British men only to having females as well as alien races in stories outside of the original films? It's probably not even worth asking, as it is a potential problematic question, but I always wondered if that was ever explained anywhere in the EU at all.

If Stoltz played Marty, then Michael J. Fox starred in The Fly 2?

Looking like reviews are somewhat split down the middle. That's expected, I guess. I didn't see this getting universal love. My only real concerns are the stunts and the action being believable. Though the trailers have me excited, still worried about the action being able to suck me in or turn me off.
-
Pretty cool. Typical trailer complaints: Some of the effects look incomplete. Lots of cg.
But I'm still hyped and optimistic. I think this, while probably being divisive, will deliver the goods.

I always overlook Pee Wee's Big Adventure for it's great writing, humor and visual style all the time. Easily one of my top ten comedies ever. Co-Written by another dead pool member, Phil Hartman!
