  1. So, is Tik Tok any worse than or doing anything Facebook doesnt do? Can I just change my settings to another country to still use it if Donald bans it?

You can download a VPN and connect to a server in another country. Then you would have access to it. But hopefully Biden will clean-up this shitshow in January.

  2. Speaking of charity, I'm currently facing eviction and have no mood for basic necessities so I broke done and setup a gofund me. If anyone as any change or could shareit it I would be eternally grateful:

I had never heard of this thing until seeing your posts on Strava (or maybe it was FB... or both?). Sounds awesome!

I'm getting my fat ass back into it. It's been a rough summer, as I've only run about 3 times since late May. But if I'm gonna do the Monumental in early November I should probably start to ramp up...

So I was a year off. I ended up running the Monumental half last November and did pretty well considering I trained for about 6 weeks (1:45:15ish).

I took my May half marathon training relatively seriously this year and wanted to break 1:40. Despite running in a monsoon I ended up finishing in 1:38:38 which was like a 6 minute PR for me so I was really pleased with that.

I found myself with nothing better to do this summer so I kept running and eventually signed up for the Monumental Full Marathon, which is, uh, Saturday!

During my training I ran another half and ended up running it in like 1:34 (7:05ish pace).

I've got a couple 20 milers under my belt at 7:55 and 7:30 pace respectively. My goal for Saturday is 3:20 (7:38 pace), I was feeling really good about it but I have struggled with my taper, and I am just getting over a cold. Oh and kickoff temperature on Saturday is 26 degrees lmao. So whatever, we'll see.

    Yay running.

You're my inspiration and I'm not even joking. I've set a goal that I am going to run the 2021 Jacksonville Gate River Run. I've never done one before and I'll need to upgrade from walking to running, so I'm giving myself time. It's a 15k marathon that is pretty much now Jacksonville's most popular event. I've got a long ways to go but at least I have a goal.

Garr: Any tips on going from an inactive person to training for a major marathon run?

  4. Had my first day of work today since my surgery. It's 2 weeks ahead of schedule so I didn't know what to expect but I actually felt great. finished the entire 8 hour shift with no problem at all. I actually felt physically better than I have in a long time. I suppose it has something to do with the increased blood flow to my heart but it's also got to be my attitude.

It's cliche but I really do feel like I have a new lease on life. I'm doing everything the doctors told me to do: I'm eating healthy, walking daily, following up with all my doctors... I have a whole team of them now lol Primary Care doctor, Cardiogist, Cardiology Surgical specialist, Pain Management doctor, Orthopedic doctor, Dermatologist, Psychiatrist and soon to be a Cardio rehab therapist.

The Cardiologist said that if I do the right things I could live to my 80's, possibly 90's. So far I'm doing it and it's not really a struggle. The walking has been challenging some days only because my back is messed up. The eating right has been very easy. I eliminated all salt, eating steamed veggies and I bought this AMAZING indoor grill called the Foodi Ninja Grill and it had changed my life! I bought chicken breasts from Costco and have been grilling them up with spices and it's just flawless. Cleanup is a since too. I also lost 44 lbs in the past 6 weeks so that's a plus!

    Things are going very well.

  6. I rarely like soup, and my mom has somehow forgotten how to cook so I can never have my childhood favorites. I used to love her meatloaf, and she would always cook it in a big pan surrounded by carrots and potatoes. She made it for me a couple of years ago and the meatloaf was burned to a crisp and the veggies were completely raw. So basically the carrots were the only edible part.

Before my Grandmother died, she dictated a bunch of recipes to me including her Meatloaf recipe, which is flawless and easy to make. I have it typed up if you're interested in making it.

  7. My Dad once made me Cream of Mushroom & Brie soup. It was pretty much the most amazing thing I've ever had. It probably clogged one of my arteries lol.

My mom also made me turkey chili and it's really good considering it's turkey instead of ground beef. She didn't use any salt for my condition so I use Mrs. Dash Table Blend seasoning and that does the trick. She has one of those Instapot things and used it for the chili so she was able to crank it out pretty quickly.

    And LOL @ Seth

  8. I turned 43 today and my mother made me her famous homemade chicken-veggie soup. Of course after my open heart surgery, there's no salt, made with unsalted stock, etc so it was bland at first but I had a salt substitute so it was still yummy. She made a huge batch of it and froze them into ziploc bags so I'm all set for a while.

I don't know what it is but I always feel better after this soup. Any of you feel this way about homemade soup?
