I thought overall the trailer looks good. I'll just say though do we need another hallway scene where a Force user destroys a bunch of helpless guys (or droids).

You know this kind of makes me think of the difference between the end of Rogue One and the beginning of A New Hope. In Rogue One, Vader was merciless when he was trying to recover the stolen plans before the rebels left. In A New Hope, he seemed rather content to just let the stormtroopers deal with the rebels. But this was immediately after Rogue One, so why the change of heart? Maybe he was thinking, "I'm gettin' too old for this ****." :D

  2. 1. Are the two dark non-Jedi people supposed to be part of the Knights of Ren? Or just more Inquisitors?

    2. How did that one dark non-Jedi person know Anakin? I will assume he used to be a Jedi.

    3. Is this series going to be about trying to find Ezra?

    4. Was that a space whale thingy at 1:30?

It's fucking hot here, even when it's not hot, it feels fucking hot. And it's not even the hot season yet.

Funny you should mention this. Growing up in Florida, I heard a joke once: In Florida, there are two seasons: hot ... and fucking hot. :D

  4. "If I can change, and he can change, then everyone can change...he gets it." "I do." :D

One of the other parts that made me laugh was "No mercy, MFer." :D

I enjoyed this season, but it does seem like this show has run its course. Daniel finally got what he was after since Season 1 (shutting down Cobra Kai). Johnny has become a better person, and he and Daniel even seem to be good friends now. Silver was exposed for who he really is and is now in jail. All the kids quit Cobra Kai at the end. Most (if not all) of the rivalries between the students have been settled. Mike Barnes got a painting to sell so he can get back his furniture store.

I just don't see where they can go from here. I guess they could always make something up. For example, after Kreese breaks out, he teams up with Kim Da-Eun to restart Cobra Kai. Or Silver's attorneys manage to get him out of jail. But these things would seem even more contrived than the last season was. I was honestly surprised Kreese broke out. I really thought the writers were going to let him die and make him somehwat a tragic character being killed as he was seeking to redeem himself. That is what I thought they were going for especially after he talked with the prison psychologist. But nope...a swipe of the key card and a little jello for fake blood....and BAM! Instant prison break. I also thought the writers were going to let Chozen die after his fight with Silver, but I was glad to see him make it through.

There were a lot of cool moments throughout all 5 seasons especially seeing old rivals (Johnny, Chozen, Barnes) become allies, but I think this show should quit while it's still ahead.

  5. I watched the first episode. It was good enough to keep me interested. I wonder how they will tie this show in with the older show. For example, why did Ben decide to suddenly leap without testing it more? Is he looking for Sam? What does he hope to find (and/or learn)? He left a message on Addison's phone but it did not explain anything. I understand they won't just give everything away in the first episode, but hopefully we will get more details before the end of the first season. I was also interested in why Al's daughter seems to be against the current quantum leap team.

  6. Does Porkins like to eat at Perkins?

*ahem* .... uh...sorry...I'll think of a better dumb question...

Would Luke still have gone to face Vader on Bespin if Obi-Wan accidentally let the secret slip out on Dagobah?

"Luke, I don't want to lose you to the Emperor the way I lost Anakin...um...uh....I mean Vader."

I was just thinking about that. Uncle Owen asks if C3PO speaks Bocci, but none of that matters later, because he tells Luke to take the droids to Anchorhead to have their memory wiped. WTF?

C3P0 "I don't know how to speak any languages jackass! You just had my memory erased!"

If C3PO had his memory erased, then how would he know he had his memory erased? :D

Where did Han learn how to speak Wookiee? Or does he just think he can talk to and understand Chewbacca the same way people communicate with their pet dogs?

Something I’ve never been quite sure of and now that this series has confirmed that Obi Wan (and Yoda) didn’t know Anakin was still alive, my question is what was the purpose of training Luke then? Did he and Yoda feel the Skywalker kids were the only ones who could defeat the Emperor?

I thought that is pretty much what Obi-Wan said in this scene:

BTW, watching this now makes me think: Obi-Wan in the PT says he cannot kill Anakin and refused to do so on Mustafar...but then he tries to guilt Luke into doing it after Luke said he cannot kill his own father. What a hypocrite. :D

You're not wrong... but it just seems like Bail would have looped Obi-Wan in on Vader being alive. Maybe they';ll address it.

Obi-Wan: Why didn't you tell me!? You told me Vader was dead and crispy!

Bail: Something something something a certain point of view.

    :D So that's where Obi-Wan learned it.

I may be missing something, but it seems like from the first two episodes of this miniseries, this is the first time Bail and Obi-Wan have spoken since Episode III. I can think of maybe two explanations:

    1. Worrrying about Leia, it just wasn't on Bail's mind to fill Obi-Wan in on the details about Vader.

    2. Does Bail even know that Anakin is Vader? I know Obi-Wan and Yoda know via the events of Episode III, but was Bail ever let in on this secret?

    So on topic...

    Two things that need discussion---

    1. Obi-Wan didn't know Vader survived Mustafar

    2. Reva knows Anakin = Vader

I'm down to see how these points play out, but they don't quite feel like they should track. Vader is pretty infamous, even now, no? And we just talked about how he's hard to miss as a galactic figure and Obi-Wan would have heard about him. Surely Bail would know.

And Reva knowing who he is? THAT is super interesting to me, and not sure it was needed unless it goes somewhere else. Anakin being Vader was definitely a closely-guarded secret otherwise there's no way Bail would have let Leia get anywhere near him.

I would assume Bail would have heard about Vader rather than Obi-Wan (after the events of Episode III). Obi-Wan seemed to lead a pretty disconnected life hiding out on Tatooine. He buried his lightsaber along with Anakin's and tried not to use the Force or intervene in any conflicts. I would assume that Obi-Wan probably did not leave Tatooine after Episode III until Bail asks him to help rescue Leia. By the way, the girl who played Leia in this series reminded me more of Princess Leia in the OT than Padme in the PT. I guess part of it was her dialogue and the other part might have been the ESB-style outfit she was wearing on Alderaan.

Maybe Reva got to watch the same recording that Obi-Wan and Yoda watched in Episode III. She seemed to be pretty resourceful and she knew that Obi-Wan was close to Bail (which is the reason why she decided to have Leia taken to flush Obi-Wan out of hiding).

By the way, did anyone else want to yell at the camerman during the scene on Tatooine where that one Jedi found Obi-Wan but Obi-Wan kept insisting he was "Ben"? The camera was shaking so much it was giving me a headache.

Oh, the continuity errors annoyed me too, the biggest being Leia remembering her mother.  I just never put the lightsaber thing in that category.  Were we ever supposed to take Obi-Wan that literally in ANH?  That he tried to hand Anakin's lightsaber to Owen and Owen said "We don't want that thing?"  Maybe, but after all the backlash over it not being in the PT, I can't see it happening on this show without it feeling forced or a fan service.  It would have to be done just right for it to work for me.

I think Obi-Wan was partly lying in ANH to manipulate Luke into becoming a Jedi. Obi-Wan also said Luke's father wanted him to have the lightsaber when he was old enough. I don't believe there was ever Anakin saying something like this in the prequels (and definitely not to Obi-Wan). After all, Anakin was trying to hide the fact that he and Padme were going to have a baby. Maybe they should film another edition of ROTS with the following dialogue:

Obi-Wan: "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you....uh...btw, this may not be the best time to ask...but...um...if your kid with Padme survives, would you want him to have this? (holds up Anakin's lightsaber)"

    Anakin: "I HATE YOU!"

    Obi-Wan: "Ummmm....I'll take that as a yes."

    :D

  12. Has anyone heard anything about if Obi-Wan is supposed to fight with Vader in this series? I have mixed emotions about that. On one hand, it would be cool to see. On the other hand, it would seem to water down the impact of their duel in A New Hope (being the first time they have faced each other since ROTS). Also, Vader's line about the last time they met he was the learner would seem kind of odd.

So why have him at all, then? He accomplishes absolutely nothing in the show, and we learn nothing about him. It's pointless.

Are you talking about Boba Fett? :D
