  1. Yeah, they need some concrete explanation there. The previews kinda make it seem like we'll be getting it soon though.

Loving all the episodes so far. Been consistently great since the premiere.

His face on the billboard stole the show though. Laughed every time that stupid wig was on the screen. lol

  2. You mean they're going to announce a game with no cohesive story but a world so big with so many tasks that you have to buy their guidebooks (for the same cost as the game) to finish them? ;)

Well that's what the internet is for.

If they do this whole thing and then NOT show fallout 4, I'm pretty sure it will be the greatest gaming troll of all time.

Totally expecting it though. Show that and Dishonored 2 and I'll be happy.

  3. I'm interested in it, but not at the full price. I'll pick it up on a sale down the road. Has nothing to do with the negative-ish reviews it's gotten but because I've got a few other games on the slate first.

The premise alone is enough to interest me. Glad you are liking it though, that makes me feel a bit better about not buying into all the hate.

  4. Nice to see 3 getting a little bit of love in here. I like it for what it is, and when I see it on TV I usually stop for awhile.

3 feels a whole like like they were trying real hard (too hard) to make a sequel to the first film. To the point that it almost completely disavows Aliens. Which is just bizarre. But I can appreciate the attempt to go back to more straight horror.

  5. I WANT this to be great, so I'll stay optimistic. Elysium and District 9 were fine. Not great but they were fine. The visual effects in them were fantastic though. Blomkamp is clearly an Alien fan who has sci-fi chops. You could certainly pick a worse guy than him to try and bring this thing back to relevance.

  6. I thought that the first two episodes are off to a fantastic start. To me it FEELS Breaking Badish, but still completely different. If that makes any sense. I'm glad they are not going over the top with the Breaking Bad tie ins. The ones that were there felt organic and made sense. Also if you have never seen Breaking Bad at all, you wouldn't even know they were there. Worked on every level for me.

  7. like when SHE went to the scientist dude with medical problems. And speaking of him-- I liked the actor-- but every week what type of scientist he was (physicist? engineer? geneticist?) seemed to change, along with his dysfunction (agoraphobe? social anxiety? sadz0rz?).

That part was by far the apex of her stupidity. The way it was done was in such a way that she seemed to have almost no medical knowledge at all at that point.

I liked the scientist guy too. Set him up well in Season 3 and then promptly destroyed it by using him as the Exposition Scientist in season 4.

Shadow, a death of one of the Masons would have went super far in establishing some credibility with the audience.

FIVE of them are captured at different points in the series and the other one was taken over by an alien worm. And all of them are fine. That tells you all you need to know about how serious the stakes are in this show.

(FYI Tom, Ben, Matt, Anne, Lexi all captured. Hal of course with the worm)

  8. I've been watching since the start and I feel like I have to stick with this last season to see it through.

The first and second seasons were so good. 3 and 4... not so much. Now, it's not Heroes level of drop off, but it's noticeable. There are enough good elements still to keep me from throwing in the towel. Interested to see how they decide to wrap it up.

I never really compared Falling Skies to Walking Dead before.

The key thing that separates them to me is that Walking Dead seems to have a real tangible weight to it. Anybody could die and at any time. Whether that is actually true or not, I don't know. But they've done a good enough job selling it that I believe it.

Falling Skies doesn't have that weight. You know Tom and his family are going to be fine. I never once thought any of them was in real danger.

If I sat down and thought about it I'm sure I could think of some other key differences, but to me. Walking Deads weight give it a sense of realism, whereas Falling Skies lack of it, make it feel like a cable tv show.

Edit: The thing that pissed me off most about the last season of Falling Skies was Anne. For 3 seasons she was the goddamn doctor. Season 4 she is some sort of commando all of a sudden? It was laughable whenever they tried to make it work and completely took me out of it. You are the doctor. Do doctor things.

  9.

I thought the Solas thing was a nice twist. He seemed a little shady to me and always dissapproved of everything I ever did. So the added plot at the end made him interesting for me again. I didn't see the Blackwall thing coming either.

I still like him, but I have to admit I like him a little less knowing that he lied.

As for the Divine, Cassandra is my Divine. You can get Cassandra, Leliana or even Viv as divine, depending on your choices in the game.

  10. Just the fact that you can sum up the characters personalities in a couple of lines speaks to the mastery of Bioware on this game.:thumbsup:

Well deserving of all the GOTY awards it's getting. And it's encouraging to think that pretty much everybody from this fantastic team moved over to work on Mass Effect now.

  11. I loved the whole scene on the way to Skyhold. Didn't mind the song either and I was fully awake.

Seems I'm not alone in my Dorian, Sera and Iron Bull love. Dorian and Iron Bull have some fantastic banter later in the game if you meet certain criteria. (no spoilers from me)

  12. I think the Red Lyrium is connected to Varrics sidequest stuff. So in that case, it's worth finding it.

As for Sera, I looooved having her in the party. Not really so much for the combat, but all her idle banter was fantastic. But then, I romanced Sera too. Seems like you either love her or you hate her. Her and Iron Bull together had a ton of great stuff. I didn't use Cole once either and don't regret it. Think he is the weakest of all the characters.

Whenever I play it again, I feel obligated to bring around some other people just to see the banter, but man it's going to be tough. I feel like those three are MY people.

And don't feel bad about spending the gold. I rarely ever bought anything all through my playthrough. I recommend the mystery box in Orlais though.
