  1. As of now, it's: Batman and Robin Booster Gold -- until Giffen's run ends in May Doom Patrol -- until it is unjustly cancelled in May Jonah Hex Superboy Weird Worlds -- This is a fun anthology mini that doesn't get enough credit, IMHO Xombi Young Justice -- I enjoy all-ages comics because they're done-in-ones, unlike 95% of what the comics industry puts out today Avengers Academy Invincible Iron Man Locke & Key Invincible *** I graduate in a few months and then head home, so I'm thinking slimming down my pulls by a significant amount. I'm probably going to end up trade-waiting
  2. Batman and Robin Booster Gold -- Dropping it when Giffen leaves the title Doom Patrol -- Can't believe this is getting cancelled to make way for ****ing "Flashpoint" tie-ins Jonah Hex Superboy Xombi -- Looking forward to this'n Avengers Academy Invincible Iron Man Locke & Key Invincible
  3. Dracula: The Company of Monsters Batman and Robin Booster Gold The Brave and the Bold Doom Patrol Jonah Hex Superboy Locke & Key: Keys to the Kingdom Invincible Avengers Academy Invincible Iron Man And now for general observations... Lemire's Superboy is fun and refreshing. Neither Booster Gold nor Doom Patrol get the amount of readers they deserve. Jonah Hex, in spite of abysmal filmic adaptations, is still the most consistent book on the stands today, as far as I'm concerned. Dracula: The Company of Monsters is a fun and interesting little horror romp with quirky, fun art and
  4. I've been away for a while again. Moving into a new apartment. Here's what I've been digging on: Adventure Comics Batman and Robin Booster Gold The Brave and the Bold Doom Patrol Jonah Hex Avengers Academy Casanova Invincible Iron Man Invincible Morning Glories Northlanders Locke and Key: Keys to the Kingdom While I don't entirely agree with the Grant Morrison crack, I will admit that his Batman mega-saga is starting to wear me down. I don't know if I'm gonna delve into Batman, Inc. when it becomes a monthly, simply because I've come to appreciate Dick Grayson as Batman instea
  5. I'm way past due for yet another one of my obsessive compulsive change-ups: Invincible Captain America Invincible Iron Man Batman Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne Batman and Robin Booster Gold The Brave and the Bold Brightest Day Doom Patrol Jonah Hex Justice League: Generation Lost Magog
  6. I'm due for one of my ridiculously compulsive updates. DC Batman Batman and Robin Blackest Night The Brave and the Bold Doom Patrol (Keith Giffen is the dopest of the dope, but I was sad to see the Metal Men backup go.) Jonah Hex Justice Society of America (I'm sorta back-and-forth on this one. The last two-parter was fun, but I may just end up picking up the trades.) Magog (Nope. Nope. Don't care what you say. This title's great, and I'll be sad to see its inevitable cancellation.) Marvel Amazing Spider-Man (It doesn't even hurt to admit it. Whether or not you liked BND--I hated it, perso
  7. just watched "Salo, or The 120 Days of Sodom." He's still not sure what to say about it.

  8. This thread ain't been touched in a while. Here's what I've got. Adventure Comics Batman Batman & Robin Blackest Night The Brave and the Bold Doom Patrol Jonah Hex Magog --> This one is PARTICULARLY good World's Finest The Unwritten Amazing Spider-Man Invincible Iron Man Creepy Invincible
  9. How did everybody like Adventure Comics #5/508? I love me some Jerry Ordway, as well as Superboy Prime, so it was win-win, for me. I was a little disappointed to find that there was no Legion backup. It was Superboy, instead. But, I must say, that disappointment quickly vanished in the face of awesome art and a fantastic cliffhanger.
  10. My pull list now looks like this: Creepy Gigantic Adventure Comics Blackest Night: The Flash Blackest Night: Wonder Woman The Brave and the Bold Doom Patrol Jonah Hex Invincible The Unwritten I'm gonna stick around and see if Levitz does any good work over in Adventure Comics. If he does, I'll keep on keepin' on with the title. Otherwise, I'll drop it like a hot potato.
  11. Well, my love for the Legion has kinda slipped out of nowhere and clubbed me over the head. SO. My pull list now looks like this: Creepy Adventure Comics The Brave and the Bold Doom Patrol Invincible The Unwritten It'd be longer, but being a full-time college student with only one job kinda made me drop my pulls to five monthlies (and one quarterly). Geoff Johns will be leaving Adventure Comics soon, but I'm pretty excited to check out Paul Levitz on the title, as he pretty much made his name on it. Worse comes to worse, I'll jump back onto Jonah Hex or something. Maybe even get
  12. I thought Dinah killed Everyman on her wedding night, when he posed as Ollie and tried to kill her. Do they explain how he survived/reanimated after that? I know death is a revolving door in comics, especially the DCU, but there are some good deaths, and his was one of them. Too bad they didn't have the nuts to keep it that way. But that could certainly be attributed to the shoddy writing on this title since (I can't believe I'm saying this) Winnick left. Yeah, that's what I'd thought. And they haven't explained how he's back, but--though he was in Ollie's form--he had the same scar in his
  13. Well, I'm back from the comic shop, and I've finished reading today's batch of stuff. The Unwritten is just a great goddamned book. Give it a look, everybody! Here are my verdicts on the newer titles I tried out: Booster Gold #26 was an alright read, and I had an alright feeling of the continuity of the story. That is to say, I didn't really feel too lost reading it. Ultimately, though, I don't have much of a connection to the Michael-Ted friendship that some other readers might, so it kind of minimized the emotional punch the issue should have had. Not only that, but there was no backup
  14. I have room for one other title in my pull list budget, so in addition to The Unwritten #7, I'll be picking up these candidates tomorrow: Booster Gold #26 I liked me some Jaime Reyes back in the days of Blue Beetle, and I have a soft spot for Dan Jurgens (as well as Booster, ever since his role in 52), so I figure I'll give this one a shot. Green Arrow and Black Canary #26 When I was really, really getting into actually following series consistently, instead of buying comics based on the coolness of their covers (Give me a break. I WAS 11.), I fell madly in love with Kevin Smith and Ph
  15. I'M BACK, BABY! [awaits adulation; taps foot; scratches head] Anyhow, I've been gone for so long because I just transferred schools. I'm currently attending UC Berkeley, and now that I've snagged an awesome, on-campus job, I have cash for comics again. YAY!! My pull list is small, but here it is in its current entirety: The Brave and the Bold Doom Patrol The Unwritten Invincible Creepy I'm probably going to add one more book, since Creepy is a quarterly. Sorry for having been gone so long, O interweb brethren of mine. It's been quite a journey, and I'm glad to be back.
